Langtang and Helambu areas offer a range of culture tours. People of Tibetan origin who practice Buddhism inhabit the high and isolated region. A side trip to the holy lakes of Gosainkunda at 4340 m. can be made from the destination of thousands of Hindu pilgrims during the month of August. The lake is also sacred to the Buddhists. In January - February, the Yolmo people celebrate Tibetan New Year with colorful dancing at the monasteries. Spring sees brilliant displays of rhododendron and primal blooms, and autumn comes alive with post-monsoon greenery.
