The topography of Tarangire is open acacia woodland, open bush, swamps, rivers, plains with scattered baobab trees. The trees grow in arid, semi-arid and sub-humid tropical climates and hold up to 300 liters of water. Tarangire has a large population of elephants around the baobab trees.
The Ngorongoro crater has abundant yellow barked acacia trees to its Lerai forest making a home to Elephants, baboon, bushbucks, waterbucks and velvet monkey. The floor has a number of wetland including the Munge River, Lake Makati and Lake Magadi. The Lakes are the attractive point to the numerous flamingos, pelicans, blacksmith Plover, African Cuckoo, Red-eyed Dove and other water birds more than 300 species are recorded.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
You will depart for Tarangire National Park for a game drive in this very diverse park with picnic lunch boxes, Tarangire is well known for its large herds of Elephant population. You will proceed with the game drive until late afternoon when you will drive to your lodge or campsite for dinner & overnight. Meal Plan (L) (D)
Day 2: Tarangire – Ngorongoro Crater
You will depart for a game drive at the Ngorongoro Crater with picnic lunch boxes until late in the afternoon when you will drive back to Arusha for overnight. Meal Plan (B) (L)
