The topography of Tarangire is open acacia woodland, open bush, swamps, rivers, plains with scattered baobab trees. The trees grow in arid, semi-arid and sub-humid tropical climates and hold up to 300 liters of water. Tarangire has a large population of elephants around the baobab trees.
Tour itinerary:
Day 1: Arusha – Tarangire National Park
You will depart for Tarangire National Park for a game drive in this very diverse park with picnic lunch boxes, Tarangire is well known for its large herds of Elephant population. You will proceed with the game drive until late afternoon when you will drive to Tarangire Sopa Lodge for dinner & overnight. Meal Plan (L) (D)
Day 2: Tarangire – Ngorongoro Crater
You will depart for a game drive at the Ngorongoro Crater with picnic lunch boxes until late in the afternoon when you will proceed to Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge for dinner & overnight. Meal Plan (B) (L) (D)
Day 3: Ngorongoro Crater
Early after breakfast you will have a full day game drive at the crater with picnic lunch boxes. Late in the afternoon you will drive to Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge for dinner & overnight. Meal Plan (B) (L) (D)
Day 4: Olmoti Crater
Early after breakfast you will drive to the Olmoti Crater where you will have a walking tour up to the rim of the crater and descend to the Munge Waterfall. After lunch you will proceed to the Nainokanoka Village for a cultural tour around the village with a Maasai guide. Late in the afternoon you will proceed to Ngorongoro Sopa Lodge for dinner and overnight. Meal Plan (B) (L) (D)
Day 5: Ngorongoro – Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast you will drive to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive at the park with picnic lunch boxes until late in the afternoon when you will drive back to Arusha for dinner and overnight at Moivaro Coffee Plantation Lodge. Meal Plan (B) (L) (D)
Day 6: Arusha National Park
You will depart early after breakfast with picnic lunch boxes for the Arusha National Park (37 km) and drive to the rim of Ngurdoto Crater and Momella Lake. You will have a game drive at the park and as an option you can choose to do a 3-4 hour walk in the park before starting the game drive. You will return late in the evening to Arusha for overnight.
