The Yangtze River is China’s longest river and the third longest waterway in the world. There are more than 70 passenger ships cruising between Chongqing and Yichang, Wuhan or Shanghai both upstream and downstream and downstream. Their outstanding hotel and cruise management expertise give travelers a wonderful vacation option on the Yangtze River.

The Three Gorges, Qutang, Wu and Xiling Gorge, the most spectacular section of the Yangtze River, are filled with breathtaking sceneries. Beginning from Baidicheng in Feijie, Chongqing and ending in Nanjin Pass in Yichang, they extend for a distance of 192 kilometers.

The Three Gorges Dam, is the world’s largest hydroelectric project using the rich water resources of the Three Gorges and the newest attraction on the Yangtze cruise line. After the damming of the open diversion channel on Nov 6, 2002 during the second stage of the Three Gorges Dams construction, the Yangtze River Cruise resumed from June 16th, 2003 with still magnificent gorge, impressive mountain landscape and some new attractions.

Day 1: Arrive in Beijing
Arrive in Beijing, the capital of China. Meet your guide upon arrival and be transferred to your comfortable hotel. (D)

Day 2: Beijing
Begin the day’s activity with a visit to Tian’anmen Square, the largest urban square in the world. Then, move on to the Imperial Palace, also known as the “Forbidden City”, the biggest palace complex in the world. In the afternoon, visit the enchanting Summer Palace, one of China’s largest and best-preserved royal gardens, where you can have a walk along the famous Long Corridor. A Peking Duck Dinner concludes your first full day activities in China. (B-L-D)

Day 3: Beijing
Today’s highlight is your visit to the Great Wall, one of the “Seven Wonders of the World” and a symbol of Chinese civilization. Just like a gigantic dragon, the Great Wall winds up and down across mountains. Then, move on to visit the Ming Tombs (Changling Tomb) area where is for deceased emperors of the Ming Dynasty. Day 4: Beijing-Xi’an
Visit the Temple of Heaven, the place where the emperors of Ming and Qing dynasties worshiped heaven and prayed for good harvest. Check out the nearby Liulichang, a traditional street lined with art & crafts shops and antique stores. Explore some of Beijing’s old “Hutongs”, lanes or alleys formed by lines of Siheyuan (a compound with houses around a courtyard). Fly to Xi’an, the most famous ancient capital of China. (B-L)

Day 5: Xi'an
Begin the day’s sightseeing with an once-in-a-lifetime viewing of the extraordinary 2,200-year-old Terracotta Warriors of China’s first feudal Emperor, Qin Shihuang. Three exhibition halls house the continuing excavation of an army of 7,000 terracotta soldiers and horses guarding the emperor’s tomb. Upon return to the city, visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda which was built in 652 A.D. It contains a large volume of Buddhist scriptures which were obtained from India by the eminent monk of Xuanzang. Enjoy a characteristic Dumpling Dinner at a local restaurant. (B-L-D)

Day 6: Xi'an-Chongqing
Visit Forest of Steles Museum where precious stone carvings and sculptures are kept. Then, visit the Great Mosque built primarily in the Ming Dynasty when Chinese architectural elements were synthesized into mosque architecture, and it is the largest and best-preserved one of the early mosques of China. Fly to Chongqing and be transferred by motor coach to the small country town of Dazu. (B-L-D)

Day 7: Dazu-Chongqing
At Dazu, you will explore the fascinating Buddhist carvings from the Song Dynasty (960-1279) on the hilltops of Baoding Hill. Enjoy a typical Sichuan cuisine dinner in a local restaurant. Embark your deluxe Yangtze River Cruise this evening in Chongqing. (B-L-D)

Day 8: Yangtze River Cruise
Depart at 08:00am from Chongqing. Announcement the itinerary and ship facilities on board at about 09:30am. Then, the shipman will introduce the Yangtze Three Gorge and the Three Gorges Dam Project to you. Around 14:00pm-17:00pm, disembark to visit the city of Fengdu, popularly known as the “city of ghost”, on the south bank of the river. Enjoy the Captain’s Welcome Banquet and Singing & Dancing Party. Day 9: Yangtze River Cruise
Around 06:30am-8:30am, visit the Baidi City of Fengjie at your own expense. At about 09:00am, cruise through the Qutang Gorge, 8km long, which is the last (most up stream) and shortest of the gorges, quite spectacular. Then, cruise through the Wu Gorge, which is the most beautiful section of the Yangtze River, flanked by high peaks that are often capped by fog or clouds. Around 13:00pm-17:00pm, cruise along the Shennong Stream by boat, you will become immersed in the wonders of zigzagging watercourses, the primitive environment and the mysterious culture along the banks. Around 17:30pm-18:30pm, sight-seeing the Xiling Gorge, which is the longest gorge among the three gorges. Enjoy the Farewell Dinner and Party in the evening. At about 21:00pm, pass through the Five-Step Ship Locks of Three Gorges Dam. (B-L-D)

Day 10: Yangtze River Cruise-Yichang-Shanghai
The highlight of today’s cruise is to visit the Three Gorges Dam, the world’s largest hydroelectric project and the newest attraction on the Yangtze cruise line. The whole Yangtze River Cruise will end at about 11:00am in Yichang. Fly to Shanghai in the afternoon. A fabulous Acrobatic Show concludes your first day in Shanghai. (B-L-D)

Day 11: Shanghai
Visit the Bund, at the west shore of the Huangpu River, the Oriental Pearl TV Tower can be seen on the opposite side. The splendid row of early 20th century Europe buildings remains the quintessential Shanghai sight. Visit fascinating Yuyuan Garden, a well-restored Suzhou-style garden, and take a walk through the Old Town filled with antique markets and specialty stores. Then pay a visit to the Jade Buddha Temple where two rare jade statues of Sakyamuni Buddha are treasured. You will have some free time in the afternoon to explore the city. (B-L-D)

Day 12: Return from Shanghai
Be transferred to the airport and board on your homebound flight. (B)
