Tibet is one of the world's most extraordinary destination and there is adventure indeed lurking around almost each and every corner. Lhasa The capital lies high in the arid wilderness of the Tibetan mountains, it's name the "Roof of the World" is no idle statement. The valley bottoms of Tibet are higher than the highest mountains elsewhere. It's snow covered plateau are the highest in the world, and apart from the Everest, which Tibetans see from 'the other side', many mountains are over 15000 feet.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Kathmandu. Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to hotel
Day 2: Kathmandu. Full day sight-seeing starting 0900 hrs. and lunch break on the way. Sight seeing places are Pasupari, Boudhanath, Patan and Bhaktapur. Evening rest at the hotel.
Day 3: Kathmandu. China visa processing day and sight seeing of sight seeing to Kathmandu City and Swayambhu-Nath.
Day 4: Kathmandu (1300m)-Zhangmu(2300m)123Km /Nyalam (3700m) + 34Km. Early morning scenic drive to Kodari (Nepal-Tibet Border) through the beautiful Nepalese countryside and start a short walk uphill with porters to Zhangmu immigration, overnight at hotel.
Day 5: Zhangmu - Xegar(4350m) 244 Km. Day drive uphill to the highest plateau of the world with typical view of the Tibetan landscape offering sheer felling of standing on the roof of the world crossing over Nyalam Pass (3,800m) and Lalungl La (5,050m), weather permitting breathtaking panorama of beautiful Himalayan ranges including Mt Everest (8,848m) but dwarfed by the vastness of the Tibetan plateau
Day 6: Xegar - Xigatse (3900M) 244 Km. Continue scenic drive crossing over Gyatchula (5,220M), the highest pass en route to Lhasa via Lhatse from where a road to Mt Kailash bifurcates to the west. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 7: Xigatse - Gyantse (3950m) 90 Km. Morning sightseeing to the Panchen Lama's Tashilhumpu Monastery. Drive to Gyantse & visit to the Kumbum Stupa & Phalkor Monastery. Overnight at Hotel.
Day 8: Gyantse - Lhasa(3659m) 261Km. Full day picturesque drive crossing over Karola (5010m), Kambala (4794m). Colorful Yamadrok lake and the Tibetan lifeline river Brahma Putra (Yarlung Tsangpo).
Days 9 - 10: In Lhasa. Two full day sightseeing tour of Lhasa including Jokhang Temple, Barkhor bazaar, Potala Palace & Sera Monasteries. Overnight at hotel.
Day 11: Lhasa - Kathmandu. Early morning drive to Gongaar airport for departure flight to Kathmandu.
