DAY 1 NAIROBI – TREE HOTEL, ABERDARES: You will be depart from your hotel and drive towards Mt Kenya through the rich agricultural land inhabited by the Kikuyu the largest tribe in Kenya. You will travel deep into the Aberdares forest, named after the third highest range of mountains in Kenya, the Aberdares Mountain range, in which it is found. This thick forest is known for its prolific game. Lunch is at the Tree Hotel and later, you will enjoy your dinner on the terraces overlooking floodlit watering holes which are frequented by wildlife. After this rare game watching experience, spend the night up in the trees, in the Tree hotel.
DAY 2 TREE HOTEL – SAMBURU: After breakfast, you will depart from the Aberdares and head due north across the equator to a different scenery – the Samburu National Park in Kenya's Northern Frontier. After lunch, go for a game drive in the park where you may get to see the Maasai giraffe, Reticulated giraffe, gerenuk, Grevy's zebra and a host of other animals. Dinner and overnight in a lodge in the park.
DAY 3 SAMBURU: You have a full day to roam around the grasslands which are the home of the semi-nomadic Samburu and perhaps spot a leopard, a pride of lions or even elephants. Have your dinner and unwind for the night at a lodge in the park.
Day 4 SAMBURU – MT KENYA SAFARI CLUB: After an early breakfast, depart from Samburu National Park and drive to Mt Kenya Safari Club for lunch. In the afternoon proceed to Sweetwaters which is situated in Ol Pejeta Conservancy, a private game sanctuary. You will have the chance of visiting the only chimpanzee sanctuary in the country and also meet Morani the “pet” rhinoceros. Dinner and overnight at Mt Kenya Safari Club or Sweetwaters Tented Camp.
DAY 5 MT KENYA SAFARI CLUB – LAKE BARINGO: Take a morning drive past the picturesque Nyahururu Falls (also known as Thompson's Falls) down to Lake Bogoria, best known for its hot springs and geysers which offer a natural organic spa for visitors. This lake supports large numbers of flamingos and in some occasions as many as 2 million can be found feeding in the lake. You will Later drive to the beautiful lake Baringo a fresh water lake and home to over 500 species of birds including the African Darter, Pink-backed Pelicans, African Spoonbill, White-faced Scops owls, Hemprich's Hornbills and a good variety of Weavers as well as Hippos and Crocodiles. Indeed, the lake is reputed to be the bird-watching centre of Kenya and is internationally recognised as an Important Birding Area. After an evening bird walk you will have dinner and spend the night at Lake Baringo Club.
DAY 6 BARINGO – LAKE NAKURU: After a morning boat ride on Lake Baringo, you will have lunch at the club, then drive along the floor of the Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru - another shallow soda lake that has been described as "an ornithologist’s paradise and one of the world's most magnificent sights". Here you have an opportunity to see up to two million flamingos and is the best place to spot the rare Grey-crested Helmet-shrike and the colourful Rupell's Long tailed Starlings. Lake Nakuru also has rhino sanctuary and harbors Lions, Warthogs, Waterbucks, Buffaloes, Hippo and many other animals. After an evening game drive, you will dine and spend the night in a lodge.
DAY 7 NAKURU – MAASAI MARA: In the morning, we drive across the Rift Valley and head south to the Maasai Mara Game Reserve arriving in time for lunch followed by an afternoon game drive. Dinner and overnight camping will be at a lodge in the park.
DAYS 8-9 MAASAI MARA: Two full days experiencing the Mara magic in the Kenya’s premier reserve that is an extension of Serengeti National Park (which straddles North Western Tanzania and South Western Kenya). The Maasai Mara is the most popular reserve in Kenya and it is famed for its astounding concentration of game. From the base camp, we explore the Mara region, teeming throughout the year with Elephant, Zebra, Rhino and all kinds of game. This is also the place to witness Africa's greatest wildlife spectacle, the spectacular wildebeest migration from Serengeti occurring mainly in the months of July and August. The Maasai Mara is “the New York of the natural world” according to some authorities. For the cultural adventurers, a visit to the Maasai village can be arranged at an extra cost for those who are interested. Dinner and overnight at a lodge within the reserve.
DAY 10 MAASAI MARA – NAIROBI: After one last early morning game drive, we head back to Nairobi.
