Seeing some of the last remaining 700 mountain gorillas in the world is a fantastic experience and this safari takes you to Mgahinga on the northern side of the Virunga mountains. Sometimes the gorillas that live in Mgahinga move across the border and you can track gorillas at Nkuringo in Southern Bwindi instead.

DAY BY DAY ITINERARY
DAY 1, MONDAY: ARRIVE IN UGANDA
Met on arrival and transfer to your hotel.

DAY 2, TUESDAY: LAKE MBURO
Start for Lake Mburo, arrive in time for lunch. Canoe trip on Lake Mburo. Afternoon game drive.
ACCOMMODATION: Mantana Tented Camp (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
DAY 3, WEDNESDAY:MOUNT MGAHINGA
Leave for Kabale and continue to Mgahinga. Make brief stops at places of interest including Kanaba Gap to view the dramatic Virunga volcanoes and beautiful terraced hills. Picnic lunch. ACCOMMODATION: Volcanoes Mount Gahinga Lodge (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
DAY 4, THURSDAY: MOUNT MGAHINGA
Go gorilla tracking in Mgahinga/Nkuringo (subject to permit availability at the time of booking). Mount Gahinga Lodge at 2,300m nestles in the shadow of the dramatic Virunga volcanoes.
ACCOMMODATION: Volcanoes Mount Gahinga Lodge (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
DAY 5, FRIDAY; DEPART UGANDA
Drive back to Kampala, retracing your steps through this green and pleasant land. Picnic lunch en route. Arrive Kampala late afternoon and depart (also depending on your flight departure time, you may need a hotel night in Kampala). Included: Breakdast, Lunch

PRICE INCLUDE:
Transport and a driver/guide for the itinerary agreed, accommodation on a shared basis and meals as stated (in Kampala, Entebbe and Kigali bed and breakfast only and on safari full board) and, where appropriate, boat trips, park fees, chimpanzee permits and one gorilla permit. At Volcanoes gorilla lodges (Bwindi, Mount Gahinga and Virunga), the tariffs are on an all-inclusive basis including unlimited consumption of all alcoholic and soft drinks; laundry services; and any activities clients wish to do around the lodges. A complimentary massage is also offered.
IMPORTANT NOTES:
1. All gorilla permits need to be purchased at the time of booking or a deposit equivalent to 20% of the cost of the safari paid, whichever is higher. Gorilla viewing is subject to availability of permits, which are limited; any additional gorilla permits required should be purchased when booking. Gorilla permit prices are subject to change without warning.
2. The safari prices include a $100 contribution per client which will be transferred to the Volcanoes Partnership Trust, a separate non-profit organization to undertake community and conservation activities.

Prices exclude: airfares to Uganda/Rwanda, entry visas and airport taxes. At non-Volcanoes lodges all personal expenditure such as tips, telephone calls, laundry and drinks are excluded.
