Entry to the Khumbu is by air into the airstrip at Lukla, and from here we follow the route of the Base Camp trek to Tengboche monastery. From here we obtain breathtaking views of Everest as it rises above the Lhotse-Nuptse ridge, as well as a superb view of one of Nepal's most beautiful mountains, Ama Dablam - the 'Matterhorn of the Khumbu'. From here we return to Lukla by a slightly different route via Khumjung.
This is a short but classic trek which allows access to the most spectacular mountain views in the world, in a shorter time frame. Accommodation and food is provided in the local lodges. Clients often extend this trip to two full weeks by taking a rafting trip or a visit to Chitwan National Park.
Your Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Tribhuban International Airport (T.I.A) and pick up by our private vehicle and transfer to the Hotel. Included: D.
Day 2: Full day guided sightseeing around of the Kathmandu valley. Included: B, D.
Day 3: Flight from Kathmandu (1,310m) - Lukla (2,840m). 4 hrs trek to Phakding. Included: B, L, D.
Day 4: Phakding to Namche Bazzar (3,440m) (5-6 hrs). Lodge. Included: B, L, D.
Day 5: Rest day at Namche for acclimatization. Lodge. Included: B, L, D.
Day 6: Trek Namche to Thame (3,800m) (2hrs). Explore and Lodge. Included: B, L, D.
Moderately easy and beautiful walk to the surrounding villages.
Day 7: Trek Thame to Khunde (3,840m) (2 hrs). Morning visit to Thame Monastery, and then continue exploring. Included: B, L, D.
Day 8: Trek Khunde to Khumjung (3,780m) (2 hrs). Lodge. Included: B, L, D. Continue trek to Khumjung, Sir Edmund Hillary loved village.
Day 9: Trek Khumjung to Tengboche (3,870m) (4 hrs). Lodge. Included: B, L, D. Descend deep into the Dudh Koshi river and then ascend finally.
Day 10: Full exploration day at Tengboche, the heart of Khumbu. Lodge. Included: B, L, D.
Day 11: Trek Tengboche to Namche (3,440m) (4 hrs). Lodge. Included: B, L, D.
Day 12: Trek Namche to Lukla (2,840m) (5-6 hrs). Lodge. Included: B, L, D.
Day 13: Flight from Lukla (2,840m) - Kathmandu (1,310m). Overnight Hotel, Rest of the time for shopping. Included: B, D.
Day 14: Final departure to your country. Included: (B).
