It forms the watershed for most of Eastern Nepal, gathering strength from many glaciers fed tributaries on its way to India & the Ganges. Rafting the Sunkoshi River is a unique experience, a rare combination of scenic beauty, cultural encounters & exciting white water. So, Sunkoshi is one of the most enjoyable rivers in the world.

Rafting put-in point is Dolalghat, which is just two hours drive from Kathmandu to take-out point at Chatara far down in the Gangetic plain (8 days on the river). The Sunkoshi starts off fairly relaxed, with small class two rapids & small class three rapids to warm up on during the 1st couple of days.

While the lower sections of large volume rivers are usually flat, the Sunkoshi reserves some of its biggest & best rapids for the last days. Everyday 5 hours paddling on the river except first & last day rapid countered class 4 to 5 according to class 1-6.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Departure from Kathmandu at 07:30a.m. With private bus. It takes 03hrs to get river. As soon as we get there, some of them rig the raft & pack-up gear while other makes lunch for you. After having lunch at river beach, you are given safety talk by river guide.

After done that all, our first day adventure begins. Rafting will be 03 hour on first day & stop at Kuhebhir for over-night rest. This entire section of the river gives you a chance to learn more about this river. Few rapids are found here, which named kuhebhir & left drop. (B, L, D)

Day 2: You are given wake-up call at amidst sunshine and breakfast will be served at 07:30a.m. As being teamwork you are highly encourage participating with our member to pack-up gear & others. (If necessary) After get ready, we move down for 2 to 3 hours and then stop for lunch at 1200 noon.

It takes approx. 2 hours. After having lunch, we will precede our journey for next 3 hours. We stay overnight close to Punch & juddy rapid. This section of the river is ideal for warm-up river experience. In this section, we encounter rapid mid-grander. (B, L, D)

Day 3: Above same activities will be repeated till the end of trip. This section is slightly hard. You have to be little more active on guide's command. In this section you will encounter rapid punch & juddy, high anxiety, Motorcycle, harkapur 1,2,3. We stop at Raighat for over-night. (B, L, D)

Day 4: All above daily activities will be done as on previous days. This section is really beautiful with troops of monkeys abound on birds life. You will encounter with rapid Jaws, Big-hole, Rhino Rock. We stay overnight at Rashuwaghat. (B, L, D)

Day 5: It will be final night in the river. After 4 days of hard works, we arrive on high volume section of the river. Some rapids in this section are called Chamereghat, Darsandhungat; Camping point will be at Ranitar. (B, L, D)

Day 6: This is the final day of the Sunkoshi river expedition. Finally we arrived at Chatara. This is considered the day to comment for the next trip. Your guide will provide you lunch at Chatara & manage night bus to get back Kathmandu. (B, L, D)

Day 7: This is the last day of our Sunkoshi river rafting. On the same day morning, we arrive in Kathmandu. The day will be free day to you for souvenir. (D)

Airfare is not included in the tour price.

Cost includes:
All rafting equipment with guide, meals while you are on river, accommodation in two men tent, all necessary fee, round trip transportation by bus.

Cost excludes:
Personal expenditure, food & accommodation cost in case of any natural accident caused by weather. Tips and other expenditure.
