The Kathmandu valley (1300m) is surrounded by tier of green mountain walls above which tower mighty snowcapped peaks. A full picturesque view of the valley is received by this trek only. The route is comfortable full of green fields and settlements of the people who are apparently encroached by the modern urban life of the Kathmandu city but are unable to leave their way of traditional life of peasantry and self sustained economy.
Entire route is fully conserved greenery and has very exciting flavor of both tradition and modernity. One does not have to miss the opportunity of seeing magnificent views of the Himalayas because this route also offers ample opportunities for viewing panoramic views of the Himalayan range from Gaurishankar to Langtang and Ganesh Himal to the perception of real proximity. During the season of late February to March, one can enjoy with the rhododendron flower. Also this area is famous to watch the wild animals as well as many specious of birds.
The trek starts from Kathmandu. Clients carry day pack only and walk at their own pace. Total walking hours will be about 4-6 each day.

Trekking equipment: The following equipment lists are suggested and essential for both types (camping & teahouse) treks in the Himalayas country in Nepal. Make use of this list as a guideline proposal. Some of the Trekking equipments can be hired or bought in the many adventure shops in Kathmandu.
The following basic equipments check lists should help you with your packing. Please remember that you should always try to keep the weight of your equipment to a minimum. At the start of the trek your packed trek bag should weigh not more than 33 pounds or 15 kg.
Head:
- Sun hat or scarf
- Light balaclava or warm fleece hat
- Sunglasses with UV protection
Upper Body:
- T-shirts (2)
- Light and expedition weight thermal tops
- Fleece jacket or pullover
- Fleece Wind-Stopper jacket (optional)
- Waterproof (preferably breathable fabric) shell jacket
- Down vest and/or jacket (optional)
Hands:

- Heavyweight gloves or mittens with a waterproof shell outer
Lower Body:

Trekking in Nepal can be undertaken throughout the year. There are four season in Nepal. Each season has its difference attraction to offer. The seasons are classified as follows:
Autumn (September - November): This season offers excellent climate and tantalizing mountain views and the weather is perfect. The Nepalese most important festivals (Dashain and Tihar) are marked during this season.
Winter (December - February): This season is noted for occasional snowfall only at higher elevations. So, it’s ideal for trekking at lower altitude, generally below 3200m.
Spring (March - May): The temperature is quite moderate in this season. Varieties of wild flowers, especially the rhododendrons are in complete blossom. It is mildly warm at lower elevations and at higher elevation, over 4000m, the Mountain View are excellent while the temperature is quite moderate.
Summer (June - August): This is the favorite season to trek in the rain shadow areas like Upper Mustang, Dolpo and Kailash. This season is also recommended for forest researchers and botanist. It is recommended to carry Raincoats and insect repellents when trekking during these summer months.
Trekking permit is not necessary for the general trekking regions such as the Everest, the Annapurna, the Langtang and Rara. Trekking permits are available from the Department of Immigration in Kathmandu. Two photographs and a copy of passport are required with the application. Trekkers should be obtained for the following trekking areas. The areas and required fees are as follows:
Lower Dolpo and Kanchenjunga US $10.00 per person/week for first 4 weeks, US $20.00 per person/week after 4 weeks
Around Manasulu US $90.00 per person per week during September to November US $75.00 per person per week during December to August
Humla-Simikot US $90.00 per person per week for first 7 days, US $15.00 per person per day after 7 days
Upper Mustang and Upper Dolpo US $700.00 per person for first 10 days, US $70.00 per person after 10 days
Trekking to Dolpo, Kanchenjunga, Makalu and upper Mustang can be undertaken through registered trekking company only. For trekking through National park areas require an entry permits. The entrance permits fees are as follow for the following National parks and Conservation Areas:
- Annapurna Conservation Area: US $28.00 per person
- Makalu Barun Conservation Area: US $28.00 per person
- Manasulu Conservation Area: US $28.00 per person
- Langtang National Park: US $14.00 per person
- Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park: US $14.00 per person
- Rara National Park: US $14.00 per person
- Shey Phoksundo National Park: US $14.00 per person
Other then above mentioned National parks such as Royal Chitwan National Park, Bardia National Park also need entrance permits Rs. 1000.00 per person.
