Legend has it that some three thousand years ago the Tamu community now Gurung community of Nepal entered this area from Tibet via Namun Bhanjang Pass and made their settlement here. Therefore this place is also known as Tamuwan. The Tamu community had their own King in the olden days; you can see remains of their Palace till now.
During the Janai Purnima (Sacred Thread Ceremony) thousands of pilgrimage and visitors through this place for holy worship. Hindus worship this place as a site for Holy Pilgrimage and a lot of devotees take this place as the gateway to heaven. There is a strong belief that if you take a bath in this Dudhpokhari (Milky Lake) three times then all your sins committed in this lifetime get purified. Therefore this place is rich in Culture, Nature, and has a good geographical importance and other attractions.
Namun La-pass (5560m) Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Tribhuban International Airport (T.I.A.) and pick up by our private vehicle and transfer to the Hotel. (D)
Day 2: Full day guided sightseeing around of the Kathmandu valley. (B, D)
Day 3: Drive to Kathamandu, Besishar to Kapoor gaon. Walk to Ghale gaon(2016m.) (B, L, D)
Day 4: Ghlegaon to Rabrachu(3100m.) 6 hrs. Hard walk.Over night at tented camp. (B, L, D)
Day 5: Rabrachu to Thorju. (4500m.) 6 to 7hrs. Hard walk. Over Night at tented camp (B, L, D)
Day 6: Viewing the Mt. Manaslu next to you.Many scenes opening ceremony of Dudha pokhari o/n Thorju (4500m.)
Day 7: 3 hrs.early in the morning trek to dudha pokhari (5300m.) viewing the dudha pokhari Lake and pilgrims, see the snow caped mountain just next to the Thorju & competition of many athleted, gurung culture dances and ship fight also. Over night stay over night thorju at tented camp.(B, L, D)
Day 8: 4 hrs. Adventure walk for Namun la pass (5560m.) 1.5 hrs.Walk for Dafe kharka (4000m.) viewing the many scenes. Over night stay overnight at Tented camp (B, L, D)
Day 9: 4 hours jungle adventure walk for Danaque (2300m.) two hrs walk for Dharapani. Stay over night at tented camp (B, L, D)
Day 10: 6 hrs.Walking on the bank of the Marsyandi River. Syange viewing the Amazing water falls on the way. Stay overnight at tented camp at Ghermu (B, L, D)
Day 11: 6hrs. walk to Khudi. Stay over night tented camp at Khudi (B, L, D)
Day 12: Drive back to Kathamandu or Overnight in PoKhara or 5 hrs drive to Chitwan (B)
Day 13: Free day to explore, and enjoy Kathmandu. Hotel Overnight. (B, D)
Day 14: Final departure to your country (B)
Price includes the following:
