Your Itinerary:
Day 1: (no meals included). Arrival Quito - our driver will meet you in airport arrivals and transport you to the majestic Hotel Patio Andaluz in the historic old town district of Quito. Patio Andaluz is an exquisitely-renovated old colonial house boasting centuries of history, located just 1 block from the central plaza of Quito that was declared a UNESCO world heritage site in 1978. Free time to relax and acclimatise to your new surroundings.
Day 2: (B included). Quito city tour - a full day to acquaint yourselves with the best sites of the city of Quito. In the morning a tour of the beautiful colonial plazas and churches as well as panoramic city views atop the Panecillo. After lunch a trip north to the equator - stand literally on the middle of the world! In the evening a horse-drawn carriage ride through the romantically-lit cobbled streets of the old town area.
Day 3: (B included). Otavalo market and hacienda - transfer north of Quito to visit the Indian market at Otavalo, famous across the Americas for it's fine handicrafts and colorful locals. In the afternoon and evening there is free time to explore the beautiful grounds of Hacienda Cusin - a charming 17th century estate steeped in history and tradition where you can enjoy a peaceful overnight stay.
Day 4: (B,L,D included). Bellavista cloudforest Lodge - morning transfer to the west, deep into the lush cloudforest reserve. This is a unique stay in paradise above the forest canopy, surrounded by myriads of hummingbirds! On arrival a sumptious lunch followed by afternoon trekking with a naturalist guide on the network of safe forest trails. Overnight in a secluded private cabin in the forest.
Day 5: (B,L included). Bellavista to Quito - more trekking opportunities in the morning to discover the ecology of this mysterious forest; this is flexible to your desires - the guides can help you to select the best trail option based upon your energy levels. After lunch there is time to explore the self-guide trails or take a short siesta before returning to Hotel Patio Andaluz at Quito.
Day 6: (B,L,D included). Papallacta spa & hotsprings - transfer out to the stunning mountain setting of Papallacta. This is the real chill-out section of your journey - time to soak in the relaxing hotsprings and enjoy the spa services. Included in your 2 days here are: overnight in a double room with jacuzzi, an aromatherapy massage, unlimited access to the thermal pools, and half a bottle of champagne to welcome you.
Day 7: (B included). Papallacta to Quito - free time on the morning to enjoy the hotsprings and take optional extra spa treatments (not included in tour price). Return trip to Quito and a final night at Patio Andaluz to reminisce about your magical week together.
Day 8: (B included). Tour end - after breakfast our driver will transfer you to the airport for your flight out.
This tour can run starting on any day of the week, however if you would like to visit the Otavalo market on official "market day" when there are more sellers then the market visit should be scheduled for a Saturday.
