DAY BY DAY ITINERARY:
DAY 1:ARRIVE JOHANNESBURG FLY TO LION SANDS PRIVATE GAME RESERVE
Upon arrival and going through immigration procedures proceed to arrivals, collect your luggage, go through customs, at arrival you will be met by To Africa Tours & Safaris representative, who will hand over all documents and assist with check in for SA8863 to MalaMala departing at 11h10. On arrival at 12h10, transfer to the lodge, arriving in time for lunch. Afternoon open vehicle game drive with an experienced ranger and tracker – situated within the Sabi Sand Reserve, Lion Sands is home to all the major game species including the Big 5.
ACCOMMODATION: LION SANDS RIVER LODGE - Lion Sands Private Game Reserve, with its superb setting and luxurious accommodation in the Sabi Sand Reserve, is the only property to have substantial access to the perennial Sabie River, ensuring an awesome diversity of wildlife through all seasons. The superior deluxe game lodge offers the highest standard of service, accommodation, amenities and facilities. Nestled beneath 800 year old trees are the 18 beautifully appointed chalets, all with full en-suite amenities, air-conditioning and overhead fan. Apart from the world-class game viewing experience, Lion Sands offers a variety of activities ranging from bush survival skills to pampering in the health spa.
The Lodge has been built on the banks of the Sabie River. It faces due east, catching the sun as it rises over the Kruger National Park. There are 18 luxurious thatched bedrooms with en-suite bathroom, outdoor & inside shower & wooden viewing deck. The bedroom area is air-conditioned with an overhead fan. All rooms have mini-bar & telephone access. The rooms are linked to all areas by raised wooden walkways. The lodge comprises the following: a private lounge and bar, 2 swimming pools, wooden viewing decks, a secluded bird hide, private hammocks, conference room, health spa, curio shop and both an indoor and open-air (Boma) dining area. River Lodge is the soul of Lion Sands. It is positioned on a site with trees dating back 800 years. The lodge is about spirit, warmth, nature & relaxation. ACCOMMODATION: LION SANDS IVORY LODGE - The Lodge has been built on the banks of the Sabie River with magnificent views, extending onto the open sand banks of the Kruger National Park. The Lodge faces due south and is approximately 100 meters upstream of River Lodge. The entrance area is separate from the main lodge in order to ensure that guests arriving and departing have no impact on other overnight guests. The main and entrance area comprise a private lounge, wooden viewing decks, board room, wine cellar, health spa, curio shop & both an indoor and open-air (Boma) dining area. Ivory Lodge is about African Euro elegance, sophistication yet simplicity, boldness yet balance, ebony & ivory, perfect harmony, exclusivity, sensitivity & complete privacy.
There are 6 ultra luxurious suites with en-suite bathroom, outdoor & inside shower, courtyard, lounge with fireplace, wooden viewing deck, patio and private plunge pool. The bedroom and bathroom area are air-conditioned and overhead fans cool the bedrooms and lounges. All rooms have telephone and Internet access.
The suites are 165m² in size and are positioned at least 20 meters apart, being linked to all areas by raised wooden walkways. They all have breathtaking views over the Sabie River, a setting where game viewing can be done from the luxury of one's private suite - Africa's finest bedrooms!
DAYS 2 & 3: LION SANDS PRIVATE GAME LODGE
Morning and afternoon game drives with time in between to relax or go on a bush walk accompanied by a ranger. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner).
ACCOMMODATION: RIVER LODGE OR IVORY LODGE
DAYS 4 - 6: CAPE TOWN
Fly to Cape Town, where you will spend the next 3 nights exploring the city and its outskirts. (Breakfast).
