Zanzibar experiences ideal holiday weather for most of the year, with the exception of April and May, which are seasonally subject to the long rains. Short rains can occur in November but are characterized by short showers, which do not last long. The heat of summer is seasonally often calmed by windy conditions, resulting in pleasant sea breezes, particularly on the North and East coast. Being near the equator, the islands are warm all year round but officially summer and winter peak in December and June respectively. Zanzibar is blessed with an average of 7-8 hours of sunshine daily.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Zanzibar. Meet and greet at Zanzibar International Airport or Seaport. Transfer to Chavda Hotel. The UNESCO heritage site – Stone Town with its narrow streets and historic Arab influenced buildings is the capital city of Zanzibar. You can spend by your own hours and hours just wandering the alleys and squares, drinking potent coffee sold by pavement vendors, or buying sweetmeats from scores of tiny cafes. Dinner and stay overnight at Chavda Hotel.
Days 2-5: Beach Leisure. Transfer from your hotel to your coastal resort for 5 nights. En route we will do the Spice Tour. We have developed a special Spice Tour with in depth information not only about spices, but also organically grown herbs and a detailed description about their traditional uses in medicine cosmetics and cooking. This is also the cheapest place to purchase spices and spice oils. The East coast of Zanzibar is the stuff of dreams: long, sparkling white beaches, crystal lagoons protected by coral barrier reefs, and literally millions of coconut palms swaying in the tropical breezes. Zanzibar is one of the most fascinating places in East Africa. Dinner and stay overnight at Sau Inn Beach Hotel.
Day 6: Transfer to Zanzibar Airport. Please note that we only organize private Safaris, only you and your travel partner(s) will be on the transfers, tours and the Safari vehicle! And we can organize that tour for you for any date!
