Your Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival in Beijing. Upon your arrival at Beijing airport, our local guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel. The rest of the day is free to relax and adjust to the time difference.
Day 2: Beijing. After a good night’s rest, the next morning you start out with Tiananmen Square, the largest city center square in the world and the spiritual heart of China. Walk through the Tiananmen Gate and you will go to the Forbidden City – the imperial palace of the Ming and Qing dynasties (1420-1911).
In the afternoon, you will be taken to the exquisite Summer Palace, the summer retreat for the Royal family in Qing dynasty when the summer heat made the "Forbidden City" uncomfortable. In the evening, you will enjoy a show of Peking Opera, the National Opera of China.
Day 3: Beijing. Drive about 70 kilometers to the Great Wall, perhaps China's best-known landmark, at Badaling. Though it is quite challenging as it is quite steep, it is definitely worth climbing as much as you could. The experience will last a lifetime.
Afterwards walk along the Sacred Road to visit the Ding Tomb of the Ming Dynasty emperors. Your dinner tonight features the famous roast Peking duck.
Day 4: Beijing - Chongqing. After breakfast, you will visit Beijing's splendid Temple of Heaven. And then take the afternoon flight to Chongqing. Upon your arrival, our local guide will meet you and escort you to board the riverboat to begin your cruise on the Yangtze River.
Day 5: Yangtze River Cruise. During the cruise we make stops in ancient and fascinating cities. Today's shore excursion will take you to Shibaozhai.
Day 6: Yangtze River Cruise. Shore excursion to Lesser Three Gorges by smaller vessels this morning.
Day 7: Yichang - Shanghai. Shore excursion to the world-famous Three Gorges Dam site this morning. After lunch, you will disembark the ship in Yichang at 13:00.
Upon your arrival, our guide will meet you and assist you transfer to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. Our guide in Shanghai will meet you and escort you to the hotel.
Day 8: Shanghai. Today, your full-day excursion of incredible Shanghai will include: Shanghai Museum, Yu Garden and Yuyuan Market. Walk along the Nanjing Road and take a stroll along the Bund or a cruise along the Huangpu River to feel the dynamic Shanghai. After dinner, attend an exciting acrobatic show (included) at the Shanghai Center Theater.
Day 9: Shanghai. Enjoy free time to explore this lively city on your own until our local guide escorts you to the airport for your flight back to your sweet home.
