Authenticity is the key of this experience because Mortola remained a real Italian village with local people, wine (from Mortola), famous Limoncello, locally made Grappa, natural food, culture and incredible scenery. The approach is relaxed and friendly, but also very professional at the same time a little paradise! There will be a cook for all meals and an Italian ‘Mama’ who provides breakfast and general housekeeping and room cleaning. For your accommodation during your culinary holiday, Villa d’arte wants to make every experience unique. You will be staying in little 16th century stone house completely designed by a famous international Sculptor. Each apartment has it’s own sea view terrace. During your stay, we look to include experiences in art history and culture. While your learning the magic of culinary art.
Course Outlines:
- Each session lasts 3 hours
- All students will receive a certificate of participation together with the list of the recipes they prepared, as well as the apron and the hat they used during the course
- The course will be taught in English and Italian
- The course can be arranged for a single person as well as for small groups of up to a maximum 4 participants.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival of the different guests, relax in the village with a welcome aperitif with local wine on the panoramic sea view terrace of Villa d’Arte. Guests are welcome to visit Menton and look at the sunset on the beach. You can also experience real lifestyle with simply having a cappuccino on a terrace. Dinner at a typical Ligurian restaurant in Mortola with breathtaking view of Monte Carlo until Cannes if the weather is very clear.
Day 2: After breakfast cooking class (3 hours) with an incredible delightful cook that cater all over Monaco and of course, lunch all together with the special ‘Aldo’s Wine’ of Mortola. Delightful and good Italian ice cream, a siesta might not be too much. Then visit of the old Menton and shopping in the zone pietone. Dinner at ‘pasta & basta’ with over 70 specialties of Italian pasta.
Day 3: Visit the museum of Chagall and Matisse in Nice. Lunch in Nice and rolling around the old Nice. Try local cuisine nicoise. Afternoon is free to do what you wish. Dinner at the villa and getting ready for the long night. Monte Carlo night with casino gambling and fine drinks in the Hotel de Paris – then two choices at midnight; or going back to Italy or discovering the Monaco nightlife and dancing all night long!
Day 4: Breakfast and Italian style lunch at the villa with wine of Mortola vineyards. Nicole Durand local art gallery. Experience the joy of creating among European sculptors like they used to do it in the past. Experience clay touching and create your own little sculpture that you can take back with you. Candle light dinner with real homemade food at the villa because some of you might be tired of sculpting all afternoon. There is nothing quite like overlooking the Mediterranean, each time the colours are different.
Day 5: Breakfast. Visit of the famous Ventimiglia Market. Late lunch and cooking lessons to prepare a wonderful meal in the villa.
Day 6: Breakfast. Life drawing class a day dedicated to creation with the world famous artist Nicole Durand. Saturday night out if desired in Monaco-Monte Carlo.
Day 7: Sunday a church ceremony if desired in Mortola’s typical Italian church. A magnificent walk around Cap Martin to Monte Carlo. Relax and free day with one-hour full body massage in the afternoon. And in the afternoon visit of Dolceacqua. Dinner at the villa.
Day 8: Antibes with Picasso museum with his most famous artwork and in the afternoon visit to the house of Picasso in Mougins. Dinner in a local restaurant of your choice.
Day 9: End of the classes and activities. Private transfers to the airport. We will say our good-byes to all our newfound friends and prepare to leave for home taking wonderful memories and many recipes to share with our family and friends at home. These are vacations that you will never forget! Guests not attending the class included in this tour, will be free to enjoy the beach, go sailing or relax. Special attention, the staff will even deliver breakfast each morning to your room if preferred, or you can enjoy eating on your own private terrace.
