The San Miguel del Bala eco-lodge was built by initiative of the Tacana community of San Miguel - Bolivia, dedicated to the lovers of the nature and culture, the project has the purpose of being a different alternative in the world ecoturistic circuits. San Miguel Del Bala (3 Days/2 Nights)
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Reception in Rurrenabaque, you will be immediately transferred to an outboard motor canoe that will take you up the Beni River to San Miguel del Bala Eco-lodge. Arrival and welcome at the eco-lodge. Lunch. Afternoon will be dedicated to visit several families to learn about the agricultural practices and transformation of several rainforest products. Also, you will learn about traditional building techniques and handicrafts. Dinner and night walk for observe the wild life.
Day 2: Walk to the Amazon forest guided by locals. There, you will learn about natural history while walking the rainforest trails. The walk will finish at the Beni River from where a boat will take you back to the eco-lodge. Before dinner you will be invited to assist to a special session where locals will tell you more about their traditions and the way of life in the community.
Day 3: Boat ride to Caquihuara, inside Madidi National Park. Observe parrots, large macaws, and wildlife. The forest on both sides of the Tuichi River shows a well-developed Amazon rainforest with tall kapok trees, wild figs and other tree species of primary forests. Lunch and return to San Miguel and immediate transfer to Rurrenabaque in the late afternoon.
Recommendations:
- Bring: sun block, hat, light clothes, swim wear. Its important the vaccine against the yellow fever.
- We recommend arrive to Rurre 1 day before the tour
- It's possible arrive to Rurre by plane (1 hr) or by bus (18 hrs)
