This Morocco tour will give the cultural traveler a taste of Morocco's cities and countryside, while staying in high-quality riad and Kasbah hotels. Come with us to venture into the wonders of the Fez Medina, spend a night in the Sahara, and enjoy a true Morocco adventure.

Sample Itinerary:

Days 1-2: Fez. You have two days to explore what this Imperial City has to offer, such as the Kairouine Mosque, spice market, tanneries and leather market, pottery quarter, henna market, woodcrafters, metal workers, and Koranic schools and old hotels. You'll be spending the night in a luxury riad in Fez el Bali, the old medina.

Day 3: Ifrane. Today, we’ll take a short drive to Ifrane in order to explore the cedar forests of the Middle Atlas Mountains. Here, we might also be lucky enough to spot some of the Barbary macaques and spot some rare birds.

Day 4: Ziz Valley Oasis. In the morning, we will head towards Errachidia in the south of Morocco. You'll have the choice to spend time in the fertile Ziz Valley in the Tafilalet region filled with date palm trees.

Day 5: Sahara Desert. Today, we'll wake up, have breakfast, and hike around the valley before heading past Erfoud and Rissani then into the Sahara Desert. Once in Merzouga, we will venture inward atop camels into the Sahara Desert, have dinner amongst the dunes, dine under the stars, and stay in a Bedouin tent for the night.

Day 6: Dades Gorge. If anyone would like to rock climb the Todra Gorge, we will stop here, get fitted for gear and join our certified climbing guide who will literally show us the ropes! Other members can hike around the area. If members do not want to rock climb, then we can go straight to the Dades Gorge, enjoy the scenery, and take a small hike.

Day 7: Ait Ben Haddou/Marrakesh. This morning we will be driving through Ouarzazate where we will stop for lunch. You can also visit the Taorirt Kasbah and the Atlas movie studio where blockbusters such as Cleopatra, Kundun, and the Mummy were filmed. Next, we will stop by the UNESCO World Heritage site—the ksar in Ait Ben Haddou where Gladiator was filmed.Tonight you can go to the lively Jemaa el Fna Square to watch the circus-like performers.

Day 8: Marrakesh. Today, you have the whole day in “Marrakesh the red”. You might visit the Koubba Baadiyn and the Ali ben Youssef Koranic School, or the Badii and Bahia Palaces and the Saadian Tombs. Or, you can opt to walk through the souk (covered market) and look at all the wares and souvenirs you can bargain for.

Day 9: High Atlas Mountains. After breakfast, we will leave for Imlil in the High Atlas Mountains. Once in Imlil, we will hike up to Armed. Armed is a Berber village on the side of a mountain overlooking some valleys and a river, and Mount Toubkal can be seen in the distance. All meals are included during your time in the mountains.

Days 10 & 11: Essaouira. After coming down from the mountains, we will be heading straight to Essaouira. Walk along the ramparts, have grilled fish for lunch next to the port, wander along the beach, stroll through the whitewashed medina, or shop for Thuya wood handicrafts. Windsurfing, kiteboarding on-beach horseback or camel riding are often available.

Day 12: Depart. Today is departure day. Check out time from the hotel or riad is at noon. You will have the option to head back to Marrakesh or Casablanca today.
