Join us in uncovering this fascinating country, its wines, its people, its history and its culture. Experience the charms and luxuries of the old world and of times past. Be a part of rich, old European traditions and let history unfold as you walk along the Danube and soak in the beauty of Budapest, relax in spas fed by natural thermal springs and delight in and various musical styles from opera to gypsy music.

Discover age old wine regions and grape varieties that are only just beginning to be known, savour hearty, full bodied and velvety red wines, take pleasure in diverse and fragrant white wines, and swoon over the succulently sweet wines of Tokay. Meet the winemakers who will share time worn secrets and fill you with historical tales of the vine while you feast on the unique Hungarian cuisine, rich, varied and steeped in tradition.

Travel from Budapest, to the beautiful lake regions of Balaton, famous throughout Europe, with vineyards dotting the lakeside one after another. This journey will take you from Budapest and its hidden secrets and charms, to the country's numerous and diverse wine regions. You will indulge in wine making traditions that are centuries old and savour the many different wine varietals, considered to be natural treasures of the vines...so treasured in fact that Louis XIV proclaimed the sweet juice of Tokaj to be.. "the wine of kings, the king of wines".

As you continue to trace the steps of medieval kings your taste buds will be further satiated as you sample hearty culinary gems, dessert delights, and other gastronomic traditions that have been passed down throughout generations.

From here, we go down to the Southern Transbudia, enjoy its Mediterranean climate and the surrounding history while spending time in Pecs and other cities. Enjoy the priviledge of tasting the award winning wines of Villany and Szekszard.

We then venture to the Hungarian Plain, filled with the breathtaking beauty of woodlands, orchards, hills and pastures, offering what have come to be known as sandy wines that are coupled with treasured casserole dishes of the region.

Finally, we arrive in the Northern Highlands, abundant in both charming villages, folk traditions and cherished cities such as Eger, overflowing with ancient cellars the perfect atmosphere to revel in the tastes of Tokay.

All travel and accommodations will be representative of the character and charm of Hungary. Accommodations will be in 4 and 5 star hotels and restaurants, reflecting the grandness of both the times gone by and the country's new awakening.
