This trip has been design ed for those who love soft adventure, short trekking, swimming at the most beautiful waterfall and for those who want to know about World War II history in Thailand. Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Bangkok - Kanchanaburi. Depart early morning for Kanchanaburi province, located 128 kilometers (80 miles) west of Bangkok. It is Thailand's third largest province, with an area of 19,486 square kilometers. The provincial area is mountainous and has the west border next to Myanmar. See and take snap shots at the Bridge over the River Kwai, the Death Railway constructed by prisoners of war during World War II. Includes: (L), (D).
Take a train from Span station to Tum kasea station. Then, have a delicious lunch. Next, drive to Erawan Water Fall, where you can enjoy walking to the beautiful highest level, the 7 th level, and even swim happily. You could also experience elephant riding and bamboo rafting (optional tour) along the river. Then, drive back or take a connecting boat to your hotel and have a rest. The hotel is located along the River Kwai. With lot of trees and beautiful decoration, you can just take it easy in the evening before enjoying dinner at the hotel restaurant, which is very romantic in a natural atmosphere surrounded by mountainous!
Day 2: Kanchanaburi - Bangkok. Head to Hell Fire Pass, a 500-meter long and 26-meter deep section of the rock that was dug out by prisoners of war in order to allow the ‘Death Railway' to continue its route from Bangkok to Rangoon. Soldiers were forced to remove the rock using no more than picks, hammers and their bare hands. Among 1,000 Australians and British soldiers who took 12 weeks to clear the stretch of the mountain, 700 died. Return to the Hell Fire Pass Memorial Museum in the same compound as the Hell Fire Pass and learn about the history of the World War II. It was set up to commemorate the period of WWII. After that, enjoy lunch at a local restaurant. Travel back to Kanchanaburi city and visit the World War II Cemetery. Then travel back to Bangkok. Includes: (B), (L).
