Day 1: You start this adventure from Bluecliffs Beach. From there you take the Wild South Coast to Port Craig, taking in the abundance of wildlife and scenery. You have two choices of travel, the beach at low tide 5-6 hours, the track 6-7 hours. Both are well signposted and maintained by the Department of Conservation. Accommodation for the first night is a 20 bunk old school house.
Day 2: From Port Craig the track follows an old log tram which is easy going. After two hours you come to the mighty Percyburn viaduct, providing a breathtaking view and two more viaducts Edwinburn and Francisburn. The track continues to the Wairaurahiri River where the Wairaurahiri Hut (and the Waitutu Lodge) is found. This day trip is easy going and takes 4-5 hours, from there starts the Jet Boat trip of a lifetime. Two hours of solid thrills, grade 3 whitewater rapids and rocks. The bush is virgin, the scenery magnificent.
