The Great Ocean Road is a gorgeous drive through this majestic coastline and Tasmania is a beautiful natural part of Australia with great national parks, wildlife, food, wine and gorgeous scenery.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Fly to Melbourne.

Day 2: In flight. The flight does not actually take two days, but you lose one day because of the International Date Line. You will gain it at the end of your trip.

Day 3: Melbourne. You will be transferred to your hotel. This afternoon you will have a half day city sights tour of Melbourne. There are tons of great places to shop in Melbourne. We recommend seeing the Queen Victoria Markets, which is a delightful assembly of shops. Evening option: The Colonial Tramcar Dinner

Day 4: Melbourne. Today you will see the famous Great Ocean Road. You will have a coach tour along the Great Ocean Road, where you will be able to see the Twelve Apostles, Island Arch, Razorback and the rugged coastline. You will be returned to your hotel in the late evening.

Day 5: Melbourne. This afternoon travel south to Phillip Island. Stop at Warrook Cattle Farm for afternoon tea (own expense). Visit the Koala Conservation Center and enjoy dinner at Cowes (own expense), where there is a variety of cafes and restaurants. Visit the Nobbies and Seal Rocks Life Center and view the treacherous Bass Strait. The Penguin Parade is one of Australia's most popular natural tourist attractions. Witness the Penguin's daily journey from the sea to the land, returning to their nests to feed their awaiting families. Return to Melbourne late this evening.

Day 6: Melbourne - Tasmania. You will fly from Melbourne to Hobart. Upon arrival you will be transferred to your hotel. You will next have a walking tour around the downtown area. The rest of the day is free, there are great dining options around downtown.

Day 7: Hobart - Port Arthur

You will be picked up from your hotel this morning for a tour of Port Arthur. Port Arthur Historic Site is a compelling and dramatic reminder of Australia’s convict past and early settlement of the Colony of Van Dieman's Land, now Tasmania. Interpretive and interactive presentations bring to reality the harrowing life of convicts 200 years ago. This tour offers maximum time at Port Arthurs Historic Side. The also includes a visit to the Old Bush Mill Steam Railway and Settlement. Here you will experience life as it was for Tasmania’s early timber pioneers. Take a ride on Australia’s most unique Steam Railway. Full day tour includes Guided tour of Port Arthur, Harbour cruise, Port Arthur admission, Bush Mill Steam Train Rise and Bush Mill Admission.

Day 8: Hobart. Today you will see one of the World's last remaining wilderness frontiers, South West Tasmania by a scenic flight. Within this remote World Heritage national park are magnificent Federation Peak, Western Arthur Range and Australia's southern most point, South East Cape. The tour includes aircraft transfers, boat trip to Bathurst Harbour, even a chance to see the endangered Orange Bellied Parrot.
