Staying at the ice hotel is a must for the modern adventurer - an experience utterly unlike other hotel stays. Inside, the temperature is never colder than -5 degrees to -8 degrees Celsius, regardless of how cold it may be outside. Unique rooms are decorated with ice art and sculptures. You sleep in a thermal sleeping bag on a special bed of snow and ice, on reindeer skins. Do not forget to visit the Ice Church, the Absolute Ice Bar, and the Ice Sauna!
Your Itinerary: Day 1: New York City - Stockholm. Depart New York* on SAS overnight flight to Stockholm. Enjoy in-flight dining and entertainment on board. Day 2 & 3: Stockholm Arrive in Stockholm and transfer on your own by Airport Express train, Airport Bus or taxi to the centrally located Esplanade Hotel. This charming hotel has an excellent location within walking distance to all Stockholm's many sights, shops and restaurants / nightlife. Day 4: Kiruna - Jukkasjarvi Fly from Stockholm to Kiruna. Dogsled transfer from Kiruna Airport to the Ice Hotel. On arrival you will be provided warm winter clothes. A welcome drink at the hotel. Enjoy dinner at The Inn and overnight in the Ice Hotel, in an arctic sleeping bag on reindeer skins. Before bed try a nightcap at the Absolut Bar, all made of ice. Day 5: Jukkasjarvi. Wake up to a nice breakfast and warm soup at The Inn. After a sauna and shower, enjoy a three-and-a-half hour Snowmobile Safari through nearby forests (warm clothes included). Lunch is included. Dinner and overnight at nearby Inn. Day 6: Jukkasjarvi - Kiruna. Day at leisure. Transfer by car to the Kiruna train station for an overnight train to Stockholm. Day 7: Stockholm. Arrive around noon in Stockholm. Transfer on your own to Hotel Esplanade. Day at leisure. Day 8: Stockholm - New York City.
