Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Fly to Lhasa. Upon arrival at the Gongga airport, our local guide will meet you there then transfer to Lhasa city. On the way you will enjoy the spectacular scenery. It is helpful to take things easy for the first few days to adapt to the high altitude.

Day 2: Lhasa Sightseeing. In the morning visit grand Potala Palace, then in the afternoon visit Jokhang monastery, after the visiting walk on the Barkhor Street surrounding Jokhang, a big free market with its prolific stalls for selling local specialties.

Day 3: Lhasa Sightseeing. Today, we will go visit the Drepung monastery, once world's largest monastery with about 10,000 monks. These white monastic buildings piled up on the hillside. Another site today is the Sera monastery. Sera may not be as grandiose as Drepung, but is more serene surrounded by many small temples. The 'Buddhism Scriptures Debating' in Sera is very famous.

Day 4: Lhasa - Gyantse - Shigatse. Today we will drive out of Lhasa to Gyantse. On the way, you will visit the famous holy lake named Yamdroktso Lake. You could see it along the road for long distance. When arrive in Gyantse, we will go to the Pelkhor monastery which is famous for its Kumbu Pagoda. Then drive to Shigatse.

Day 5: Shigatse - Shegar. You will visit the Tashilumpo monastery which is the main attraction of Shigatse, it is one of 6 most famous monasteries in Tibetan Buddhism and it is the residence of Panchen Lama. There you can enjoy the highest bronze statue of Buddha, called future Buddha. Continue driving west to Tingri. On the way, you can make a detour to visit Sakya Monastery.

Day 6: Shegar - Base Camp - Lhatse. Today we drive southward to the highest monastery of the world-Rongbuk monastery. We are getting closer to Mt. Everest from now on. Taking carriage there, you will have a comparative close view of the highest mountain in world. After that we head back to Lhatse.

Day 7: Lhatse - Lhasa. Today we will drive back to Lhasa and the rest time is free for you. You can buy some presents for your friends or your family.

Day 8: Leave Lhasa. Today, we will transfer you to the airport/railway station. Say bye-bye to Tibet.
