Mountain Kyizi expedition is not as hard as climbing the Great Holy Mountain Cho Oyu, but you still need to do full preparation, because it is not like easy normal trekking tours, it is still very challenging, the basic climbing learners regard this as a good training.
Tour Itinerary: Day 1: Arrival in Lhasa by train or air, overnight at famous 3 star hotel such as Dhood Gu or Yak Hotel or Shangbala Hotel. Day 2: Walking sightseeing tour in Lhasa: Potala Palace, Jokhang Temple and Barkhor Bazaar. Day 3: Walking sightseeing tour in Lhasa: Drepung and Sera Monastery where to see lection debate between Tibetan monks. Day 4: Free day for preparation for expedition, checking all equipments. Day 5: Drive Lhasa - Yangpachen Geothermal (87 km, 1 and half hours), continue driving 20 minutes (20 km), get to the foot of Geluo Nunnery, then drive up to the Nunnery (4809 m, taking about 1 hour) and camp near Nunnery. Please be aware of that Geluo Nunnery is the Base Camp for our expedition, when driving up, we will bypass a turning right point which is 4314 m. Day 6: Rest day in Base Camp, sightseeing Nunnery (4809 m). Day 7: Base Camp to Advanced Base Camp (5200 m), taking about 7 hours, camping. Day 8: Rest day in Advanced Base Camp, walking about 4 hours for acclimatization, doing some exercise for climbing the icy mountains. Day 9: ABC to Base Camp 1 (5800 m), trekking for about 4 hours, camping. Day 10: Camp to peak (6206 m) of Kyizi, and then back to Advanced Base Camp (5200 m), taking about 6 hours, camping. Day 11: ABC to Base camp (Nunnery) and then drive back to Lhasa. Day 12: Rest day in Lhasa. Day 13: Depart Lhasa by train or air for your next destination. Notes: Prices:
