The peak of Mt. Samdain Kangsang is 6590 meters above sea level. This holy mountain, the middle part of Nyanchen Thanglha Mountain chains, locates in Nakchu Prefecture area. The typical weather of Namtso Lake can not infect the mountain so much that the availability of conquering this mountain is more optimistic than climbing other mountains in Tibet, because it seldom rains in a year.
Mt. Samdain Kangsang is 100 km away from the administrative center of Nakchu, 70 km away from Damxung County, and 180 km from Lhasa. We can set our first transitional base camp in Nabuzha or Balindo where the land cruiser can approach. Nabuzha is 10 km away from the Qinghai-Tibet High way, but it will take nearly 2 hours drive. Anyhow it is convenient to transport all the foods or equipments to this interim base camp, as well as keeping in touch with necessary people in case of any emergency. From here we will prepare all the yaks and yak men (and/or horses and horse men)and then climb up along the Yugkyung Qu to the end of the glacier (5200m) area where we set up our Base Camp, 3 hours is needed to take. After one day rest in Base Camp, we are going to set up our second transitional base camp (Interim Base Camp2, 5800m), and then climb up to set up the Camp 2 for challenging the peak (6590m). The climbing route is obvious, and gradient is soft. The base camp is 5200 meters above sea level, the hight of climbing is 1500 m, so it is not so tough to conquer.
