This incredible river journey was first paddled by Wind Horse in spring 2005. We access the Reting Tsangpo by its north fork, putting into a small alpine stream with incredible views of the Nyenchen Thanglha range near Lake Namtso. The north fork enters the main river on day two and we paddle big water through incredible alpine juniper forests and past nomad camps. Grand Canyon style rapids are interspersed with lazy flat sections and awesome surf waves for kayakers. A visit to Lake Namtso can be added on to this trip.
