Enjoy 10 or 14 days for great riding on our Southern Road Cycling Experience. This tour takes us from the southern most point of the South Island to the northern end via the scenic West Coast, enjoying some of the best road cycling to be had in New Zealand. Fully supported and guided by Pacific Cycle Tours experienced guides, we cover the entire distance from hotel door to hotel door on our bikes. As we travel North we take in the many sights and activities that make New Zealand one of the world's most popular cycling destinations. While the tour is designed for the more serious cyclist (100km+ per day), we also welcome participants who prefer 60 - 100 kms cycling per day.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive in Invercargill and transfer to Bluff
Day 2: Bluff to Gore: 96km cycling
Day 3: Gore to Alexandra: 140km cycling
Day 4: Alexandra to Queenstown: 94km cycling
Day 5: Free day in Queenstown
Day 6: Queenstown to Wanaka: 77km cycling
Day 7: Wanaka to Haast: 145km cycling
Day 8: Haast to Franz Josef: 142km cycling
Day 9: Free day in Franz Josef
Day 10: Franz Josef to Hokitika: 134km cycling (option to return to Christchurch by TranzAlpine train journey)
Day 11: Hokitika to Westport: 140km cycling
Day 12: Westport to St Arnaud: 158km cycling
Day 13: St Arnaud to Picton: 120km cycling
Day 14: Departure from Picton (or return to Christchurch)
