Our Guided walks are very much for those that want a comfortable holiday but at the same time being out in the open, walking, seeing and getting the feel for the Irish countryside. Our guides are selected because of their knowledge of the area which you will be walking. They will explain the ecology of the area, its history, art, architecture, customs, folklore and its natural history. Good accommodation, (private bathroom each location) and quality meals make for a holiday to be remembered. These holidays are Sat./Sat for the Guided Comfort/Special Interest Walks.
* Itinerary for Guided Kerry Peninsula
- Day 1 Arrive in Killarney, where we stay for the first two nights.
- Day 2 Wonderful walk in the mountains with fabulous views over the Lakes of Killarney with spectacular vistas all around.
- Days 3 & 4 Moving west along this peninsula we walk from Killarney to Kenmare and transfer to Sneem, where we stay the next two nights. The next day we enjoy a coastal walk in this magnificent region and visit the impressive Staigue Fort.
- Days 5 & 6 More coastal walking around the historical Valentia Island with glorious scenery capturing the full panorama of this western tip of Ireland. We then take the opportunity to try and visit the famous Skellig Islands - weather permitting. Both nights are spent in Portmagee.
- Day 7 Follow an ancient and fascinating track from Cahirciveen and enjoy thewonderful scenery as we continue walking east to Glenbeigh to enjoy our last overnight here.
- Day 8 Departures
* Itinerary for Guided Kerry Mini Break
- Day 1 Arrive at Sneem. Short walk in the Parknasilla area. Evening meal at Sneem where we spend the first 2 nights.
- Day 2 Walk to the spectacular Staigue Fort. Breath-taking views to the south over the Kenmare Bay to the Beara Peninsula and west towards Derrynane.
- Day 3 Leaving Sneem we start our walk from the historic Derrynane House - famed as the home of Daniel O'Connell, The Liberator. We explore the National Park and Abbey Island and enjoy great coastal vistas towards Scariff Island and the Skellig Rock. Evening meal and overnight accommodation in Cahersiveen, where we spend the next two nights.
- Day 4 Walk on Valentia Island to Bray Head, with magnificent views of the Skelligs and the rocky coastline near Portmagee.
- Day 5 Walk near Glenbeigh around the base of Seefin on the Kerry Way, with views of Rossbeigh Strand, Dingle Bay and Caragh Lake. Departures.
Our Self-Guided walks give you that sense of adventure, where the you guide yourselves from place to place and we look after all the logistics ...move luggage, book accommodation, do route details/maps, keep an eye on you, etc..... all you have to do is walk each day and enjoy Ireland as it should be seen.... on foot ! Self-Guided Walking Holidays, 4 day, 6 day, 8 day, 10 day or 11 day can start/finish any day of the week.
* Itinerary for Self -Guided Kerry Peninsula
- 8-Day Programme:
Day 1 - Arrive at Killarney and collect "Walk Information Pack" from your first house accommodation.
Days 2- 8 On leaving Killarney you walk through the National Park, Kenmare and Sneem to reach the most western point of this peninsula at the scenic town of Waterville. Continuing back along the southern shores of Dingle Bay with Mount Brandon majestic across the waters - you complete your 8-day holiday in Glenbeigh and transfer back to Killarney. 6 full days of walking - Total - 130kms.
- 11-Day Programme
Continue the 8-Day Programme east from Glenbeigh & cross the area known as the "Highlands Of Kerry", descending into the famous Black Valley, before emerging again to return via Galway's Bridge to Killarney for the final night.
