Day 1: Arrive at Glengarriff and collect "Walk Information pack" from first house accommodation. Days 2-4: Walk from Glengarriff to Castletownbere along the magnificent southern shores of this peninsula with glorious views over magnificent Bantry Bay. Days 5-7: Cross from the south of the peninsula to the north side, with wonderful views across Kenmare Bay to Kerry with Ireland's highest mountains dominating the skyline ahead. Finish in the heritage town of Kenmare for the final night. Days 8-11: West from Castletownbere you have the opportunity to explore this wonderful region, all the way to Dursey Island right at the most westerly tip of the peninsula. Returning east to Allihies, a wonderful village with a unique atmosphere, you then continue east to Eyeries and back to Kenmare. Recommended items to take along: - Lunch box and thermos flask - Midge repellent cream - Gaiters - Waterproof wax or spray for your boots - Any specific personal medical requirements - Camera and lots of film.
