Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive Delhi. Arrive Delhi this evening. You will be received at the airport and taken to the hotel. Overnight: The Imperial – Heritage Room.
Day 2: Delhi - Pantnagar – Alai. Transferred to the airport for your chartered flight to Pantnagar (1 hour). On arrival you will be driven to the roadhead (4hrs), from here, you begin the village walks. Setting off from the roadhead on the Kasar Devi Ridge, you will begin by walking down through various villages. During the walk you will pass the traditional flour mills of the area. On arrival in Alai, you may like to learn some of the culinary skills of the region. Overnight: Alai Village.
Day 3: Alai - Jwalabanj. The first part of today’s walk takes you through a canyon and forestry, crossing streams and fields as you go. Taking you further through the hills, the final section takes you to the highest point of the walks. A traditional Kumaon dance will be performed for you this evening – a spectacle enjoyed by all. Overnight: Jwalabanj.
Day 4: Jwalabanj - Leti. On the final day, you set off on a gentle walk down the valley through the cedar forests, passing through terraced fields. Visit the Jageshwar Temple Complex and the Chitai Temple. You will then be driven 4.5 hrs to Leti, en-route stopping for a picnic lunch at a picturesque spot. On arrival at Leti, you will walk 1 hour to the camp. Overnight: 360 Leti. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Days 5 - 6: Leti. During your 3 nights at the camp, if you like the opportunity to take gentle walks out into the countryside, picnic hampers and guides are provided. You may just like to be at leisure and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. Overnight: 360 Leti. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 7: Leti - Nainital. After breakfast, you will walk back to the roadhead and then be driven to Nainital (5.5 hours). Rest of the day is at leisure, until your farewell dinner at this quaint heritage home-stay. Overnight: Abbottsford. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 9: Nainital - Pantnagar - Delhi departure. This morning you will be driven back to Pantnagar airport (2 hrs) to board your chartered flight to Delhi. In Delhi, rooms for day use and later in the evening transfer to the International airport.
