Tour Itinerary:
Day 1 - Kalahari Game Reserve On arrival at Maun Airport, you will be met and assisted to your connecting light aircraft transfer (50 mins) to Tau Pan where you stay for 2 nights on a fully inclusive basis. Tau Pan Camp is situated inside the world famous Central Kalahari Game Reserve right on the edge of the beautiful Tau Pan – due to open in March 2009. The camp is situated on a sand ridge overlooking a permanent water hole and consists of 8 tents, set under thatch. The central area houses the dining room, lounge and game viewing and star gazing deck. Other facilities include a swimming pool for cooling off on those hotter days, a library and curio shop. Activities offered include game drives both day and night in open 4x4 vehicles with a tracker and guide. Hotels: Tau Pan Camp Meals: BLD Day 2 - Taupan The Central Kalahari Game Reserve is the largest game reserve in the world, and home to a rich variety of game including lion, leopard, cheetah, jackals, a variety of antelopes and wild dogs. Bird life is also plentiful and includes the Kori Bustard, the heaviest flying bird in the world, and ostrich. Game drives are offered in the early morning and late afternoon. You may also enjoy a guided walk – one of the best ways to get to know this fascinating region. Hotels: Tau Pan Camp Meals: BLD Day 3 - Camp Moremi This morning after a leisurely breakfast you will fly back to Maun and then connect onto your flight to the Moremi Game Reserve where you will stay for 3 nights at Camp Moremi. Situated on the beautiful Xakanaxa Lagoon in the Moremi Game Reserve, Camp Moremi consists of 11 East African style safari tents on raised wooden platforms. Each tent is furnished in Rhodesian Teak and colorful woven rugs. Shaded by giant ebony trees, Camp Moremi is an elegant elevated thatch and timber structure comprising of a main lounge, wildlife reference library, dining room and stylishly decorated cocktail bar cooled by overhead fans. Hotels: Camp Moremi Meals: BLD Day 4 & 5 - Camp Moremi Activities include morning and afternoon game drives by open 4x4 safari vehicle, excellent bird watching or exploring the Xakanaka Lagoon and surrounding Okavango channels by powerboat. Trained guides will share their knowledge and deep love of Botswana 's wilderness with you on game drives where sightings of wild dog, cheetah, leopard, lion, elephants and buffalo are regular occurrences. Hotels: Camp Moremi Meals: BLD Day 6 & 7- Okavango Delta An early morning wake up call for your game activity will start the day. Return to camp for brunch prior to departing by light aircraft north to Lebala Camp up in the Linyanti area of the Okavango Delta. Here you will spend 2 nights on a fully inclusive basis.Open grasslands scattered with Illala Palms stretch to the south and west of Lebala. The perennial and southerly flowing Kwando river disappears into the vast marshes before emerging as the Linyanti river, flowing in a north easterly direction. The eight spacious tents are unique – each is built on a raised teak deck with maximum comfort and privacy in mind. Each tent has an entrance foyer with a reading and writing area, en-suite bathroom with Victorian clawfoot bathtubs and double vanities. The bathrooms lead out to a reed enclosed open-air shower. Each secluded tent has its own sundeck, and is set back among the trees. The endless vistas from the large windows and decks across the vast plains, make Lebala one of the finest wilderness camps in Africa. Hotels: Lebala Camp Meals: BLD Day 8 - Kasane After your game drive this morning, a light aircraft transfer will take you on to Kasane and from there connect to your onward travel arrangements.
