Tour Itinerary:

Day 1, Sept 11th: Your departure flight To Bali

Day 2, Sept 12th: Upon arrival in Bali you'll be met and transferred to our beautiful hotel in bohemian Ubud, the center of arts and crafts. Here we will stay for 6 nights in deluxe accommodation, relax and acclimatise. Our Hotel Resort is surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and an abundance of exotic plants, an oasis in the midst of Ubud’s bustling activities and picturesque Monkey Forest Road. Evening: Briefing, Introductions and Meditation.

Day 3, Sept 13th: Early morning visit to Bangli, a village near Ubud tucked well away from tourist routes where we visit the surrounding temples. Then enjoy the mythical, colourful Barong & Kris dance performance, telling their traditional story of good versus evil with a touch of humor. The dancer’s masks appear to come to life during this magical tale. Afternoon relax or take advantage of our hotel’s amenities.

Day 4, Sept 14th: Shopping for traditional Balinese clothes, which we will need for our future rituals, purifications and other ceremonies. Wearing our Balinese clothes, we are invited to have traditional dance lessons, which will be great fun. We then visit Balinese healers, where we can learn healing using traditional Balinese medicines and healing by the use of magical drawings.

Day 5, Sept 15th: An exciting excursion to the eastern part of Bali, to Karangasem and its royal palace, then onward to Turta Gangga Water Gardens & Kusamba, a quaint fishing village, which is known for its brightly painted canoes. We pass picturesque areas of rice terraces on the way to the Bat Cave temple and the aborigines’ village of Tenganan. We may also visit the traditional Ikat hand-weaving factory at Sideman village. Evening, memorable full moon performance of the primitive and breathtaking Kecak dance at Arma.

Day 6, Sept 16th: Morning visit to the Tampaksiring holy spring temple (Tirta Empul Temple). The inner portion of the temple has a Holy Spring. These waters are considered to have curative powers. Here we go through the various levels of purification rituals at different fountains in preparation to receive a blessing by a priest. Return to Ubud and the balance of the day is at leisure.

Day 7, Sept 17th: Visit a small mountain village in an area completely off the beaten track. Call at the local school and deliver a gift of school supplies. Later we have the opportunity to participate in preparing farm implements for planting and cultivating rice alternatively, feel free to observe and take pictures. The villagers invite us for a traditional singing performance and a performance by the ‘Gamelan Orchestra’.

We then have the opportunity of a short lesson in playing instruments with the orchestra. Additionally we shall learn how to make a temple offering and time permitting offer it at Batukaru temple. We will also take a short walk through the rice fields. (Lunch at the village).

Day 8, Sept 18th: Departure to Pemuteran in the far north of Bali. En-route we visit Lake Beratan, then the flower & spice market to experience the colors, fragrances and exotic aromas. Onward to the Botanical Gardens and Pulaki monkey temple, where monkeys live in the Temple and are free to come and go as they please. Arrival at our stunning beach side hotel, where we shall stay for 2 nights. Sun-set meditation on the beach.

Day 9, Sept 19th: Enjoy a boat trip to the Menjangan Island. Here we can snorkel in the warm, crystal clear sea experiencing the fascinating underwater world with its colorful tropical fish and beautiful corals. Later we Visit the Pura Melanting Temple and receive a blessing from the local priest. (Lunch included)

Day 10, Sept 20th: Guided, leisurely hike in Barat National Park, known for its variety of rare birds and other wildlife. We will come across small makeshift temples where local people have placed offerings. En route to Ubut we trek the banks of a crystal clear river which leads to the spectacular cascading 40m Munduk Waterfall. This is thought to be the most beautiful part of Bali.

Day 11, Sept 21st: Mask-making workshop. The mask-maker will demonstrate mask-making and will explain the spirit and character of the masks. In the afternoon visit Petulu where the white herons return to roost every evening. Evening: Performance of the classical & enchanting Legong dance, traditionally performed at royal places by girl aged between 8 and 12.

Day 12, Sept 22nd: Our Jungle trek in the Mt. Batukaru area starts by walking down hundreds of steps to Lake Tamblingan. On the way we will have spectacular views of Lakes Beratan and Buyan. From here we continue through the jungle. Later, transfer to our Spa hotel, which in itself is a village museum, showcasing Indonesian people’s cultural history where we can see artifacts that constitute the cultural legacy of Indonesia. (Three nights, full board)

Day 13, Sept 23rd: Morning Meditation Workshop. Today we can take advantage of a free one-hour Yoga class and you are also entitled to a choice of a one-hour traditional Balinese massage with exotic oils from the islands or a one hour reflexology treatment. The hotel offers an extensive range of classes and treatments (to be paid for locally).

Day 14, Sept 24th: A day at your leisure for more pampering or meditation.

Day 15, Sept 25th: Transfer to the airport, departure to your destination.
