Hiranya Varna Mahavihar located in Patan this "Golden Temple" is, in fact, a monastery. Within the shrine are many images of Gautama Buddha and Avalokiteshwor including a golden frieze depicting the life of Buddha immediately in front of the main shrine. The monastery is actively patronized by Buddhist communities.

Pashupatinath: The holiest of the holy Hindu temple in South Asia is the focal point of pilgrimage from all over the sub-continent. The holy river of Bagmati flowing nearby is the cremation ground of the Hindus. Funeral pyres can be viewed from across the river bank.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Kathmandu. Arrival at Tribhuwan International Airport, Kathmandu. A traditional warm welcome by our airport representative. Briefing about the package in the hotel. Rest time at Leisure. Evening typical welcome dinner. Includes: (B)

Day 2: Kathmandu. We begin our sightseeing tour of Kathmandu valley by visiting two very important religious centers: Pashupatinath temple for the Hindus, nearby along the banks of the river Bagmati is the cremation area for the dead. Bodhnath is possibly the largest stupa in the world and a center for Tibetan school of Buddhism. We then drive on to Bhaktapur the medieval city of devotees and the best reserved of all the old cities of Kathmandu Valley.

We visit Patan famous for its arts and crafts. Tour highlights are the Shikara-style Krishna temple, Patan durbar with the royal baths, Hiranya Varna Mahavihar, a Buddhist monastery. From here we visit the Tibetan cultural center first founded by the Tibetan refugees of the late fifties and now an exhibition-cum-shopping complex of carpets, jewelery and many interesting souvenirs. Day 3: Kathmandu - Pokhara. We continue our tour in the morning with a visit to Kathmandu Durbar Square, the palace of the Malla and then the Shah Kings of Nepal. Places of interest here are the Kasthamandup, a medieval rest house said to give Kathmandu its name, Kumari Temple, abode of the virgin goddess From here we visit Swoyambhunath stupa, on top of a hill overlooking Kathmandu valley. After lunch we are transferred to the domestic airport for a short flight to Pokhara. Upon arrival we are met by Trekking Team staff and transferred to our hotel. Includes: (B)

Day 4: Pokhara. This picturesque town set on the laps of the Annapurna Mountains is the staging area of all treks in this region. Today we visit the important sightseeing areas like Bindebashini Temple, Devin''s Gorge, Seti Gorge and the market place. We have rest of the afternoon at leisure. Boating on Fewa Lake is an optional you can enjoy. Includes: (B)

Day 5: Pokhara - Kathmandu. We are free to on our own in morning. In the afternoon we take the short flight back to Kathmandu. Then we visit Patan famous for its arts and crafts. Day 6: Kathmandu. We are totally on our own today. Day at leisure. Time for last shopping. Evening farewell dinner. We can take some optional tours to the famous sites of the valley: Dakshinkali temple famous for animal sacrifices, Budanilkanth, the sleeping Vishnu statue; Godavari Botannical Gardens. Kindly let our tour officer knows your choice. Includes: (B)

Day 7: Kathmandu Departure. We are free today until our departure transfer to the airport. Includes: (B)
