The dramatic peaks, verdant valleys and charming hamlets of the Dolomites form the backdrop for our exciting, active family adventure. Adults and children alike will be awed by the sublime scenery and cultural vibrancy of these two regions where Italian and Austrian cultures blend in perfect harmony with nature.
Our first three days will be in Cortina d’Ampezzo where you’ll enjoy the town’s lively atmosphere, great hikes and rock-climbing while learning a few words of Italian from our guides along the way! Then we will enjoy two nights in typical mountain lodges that offers a really special atmosphere for children and for adults. And finally the last two days will be spent at the to the charming Tyrolean village of Corvara in Badia where you’ll experience the blend of Italian and Austrian cultures while hiking or doing some optional tours.
Throughout the trip, various options suitable for trip members of all ages and ability levels will be offered. We relax each evening in the comfort of family run hotels and look forward to share the next day’s adventures and the joy of discovery with the entire family.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrival at Cortina d’Ampezzo. Meet with your tour leader at hotel in Cortina D’Ampezzo.
Day 2: Hike Tre Cime di Lavaredo (optional Via Ferrata) - This hike will take us around the spectacular massif of Tre Cime di Lavaredo. The “Three Peaks” are some of the most dramatic mountains in the Dolomites due to their extraordinary spike shape, alignment and subtle color changes that occur throughout the day.
Day 3: Hike to Rifugio Biella.
Day 4: Hike Rifugio Biella to Rifugio Lavarella - From the Rifugio Biella we hike crossing the Rifugio Fodera Vedla and the Rifugio Sennes. We hike until Rifugio Lavarella where we will spend this night.
Day 5: Rifugio Lavarella – Corvara.
Day 6: Hike Santa Croce Sanctuary.
Day 7: Departure.
