From the alpine meadows of Vallorcine to the south side of the Mont Blanc, we will hike through larch forests on the Mont de la Saxe ridge above Courmayeur, Italy, and take in stunning views of Mont Blanc, the Aiguille Noire de Peuterey and the Grande Jorasses. If the weather is bad in France, let’s go through the Mont Blanc tunnel to Italy, or over the Col de Forclaz pass to Switzerland, everything is possible. In the Chamonix valley, on some days, making use of cable-cars will allow us more time to admire the alpine fauna such as the ibex and chamois, two species of mountain goats that inhabit the cliffs above the valleys. With ‘balcony’ walks on both the south and north sides of the valley, each day is very different in terms of not only the views but also the vegetation encountered. Based in the Chamonix valley the entire week, short mini-van transfers allow us to access trail heads or cable-cars. This trip is ideal for family walking holidays. Our daily itinerary will be chosen according to our guest's fitness levels and abilities and, of course, the weather. Since you will be going day-hiking, we have great flexibility in our program. Trip Leaders: All our guides are internationally certified, and have an in-depth knowledge of the area they are guiding in. Most guides working for us in the Alps live in the Chamonix valley on a permanent basis, where the mountains are both recreation and their livelihood. All of our guides are professionals, and are skilled at transmitting their tremendous knowledge of the region/country to you. All our guides speak fluently English and at least another foreign language. Wherever you go with us, your guide will be able to communicate at ease, enabling him/her to take care of any problem/special wishes that might occur. Trip Difficulty: Level 2 (From 1=easy to 5=very strenuous). Moderate walking on well-marked trails, some steeper sections, both up and down, 500m (1500ft) maximum elevation gain per day. Some narrow, rocky trails. 3-5 hours of daily walking. Note: There is no set itinerary, we plan the week according to weather and group abilities. Member discount: Notes: Price Includes:
