Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Fly from Beijing/Xian/Chengdu/Kunming/Kathmandu to the Gonggar airport of Lhasa, (60km from the main city), meet our representative and transfer to the city and check in. Afternoon free for acclimatization.
Day 2: AM visit Potala Palace, PM visit Sera Monastery and Norbulinka.
Day 3: AM - visit Drepung Monastery, PM - visit Jorkhang Temple & Barkhor street.
Day 4: Full day excursion to Namtso Lake, so called the “Sky Lake”, same day drive back to Lhasa and visit Yangpacheng Hot Spring en route, o/n in Lhasa.
Day 5: Drive Lhasa/Nyingchi via Medro Gongkar, Kongpo Giamda & Mila Snow Mountain, view Nyiyang River en route (470km). o/n in Nyingchi.
Day 6: AM - visit Kushuk Demdrug - the sacred tree of Bon, a magnificent specimen (considered a juniper by Tibetans) perhaps 2,000-2,500 years old, locals believe it to be the Original Tree, as old as the universe. Excursion to Draksum Tso (chi. Basum Tso), a famous alpine lake of the Red Sect. It is located in Shoka in Kongbo Giamda County, to the east of Kongpo Giamda and 300km from Lhasa. With its colorful water - so called Tibet’s small Switzerland. The scenery around the lake id magnificent which is well known as “Geneva of the east”, o/n in wooden lodge at Lake side.
Day 7: Morning enjoy the visit ancient Nyingma temple on the photogenic island in middle of the lake. People can go there by a ferryboat (pay on your own). On the 15th of fourth month in Tibetan calendar every year is the festival of kora round the lake pilgrims from Nyingchi and Kham come here to turn around. Same day drive back to Lhasa, o/n in Lhasa.
Day 8: Transfer to Gonggar airport and fly to Beijing/Xian/Chengdu/Kunming/Kathmandu, tour ends!
