Your Itinerary

Day 1:
Saturday. ARRIVE MEXICO CITY to be met and transferred to hotel.

Day 2:
MORELIA AND PATZCUARO. Tour Morelia, founded in 1545 and famous for its colonial architecture built of pink stone. Overnight in charming Patzcuaro, capital of the Purepecha Indians.

Day 3:
JANITZIO ISLAND AND GUADALAJARA. Breakfast and morning tour in Patzcuaro. Visit the House of Eleven Patios before a boat ride on Lake Patzcuaro to Janitzio Island, still inhabited by the Purepechas. Evening arrival in Guadalajara for a two night stay.

GUADALAJARA. Morning tour of magnificent Guadalajara. Afternoon at leisure.

Day 5:
TLAQUEPAQUE AND GUADALAJARA. After breakfast visit Mexico's largest handicraft center, Tlaquepaque. Streets paved with stone entice visitors to wander leisurely through art galleries and workshops. Lunch and mariachis included. Overnight in Guanajuato.

Day 6:
GUANAJUATO. Explore Guanajuato with its underground streets and opulent 18th century architecture. Overnight in San Miguel de Allende.

Day 7:
SAN MIGUEL DE ALLENDE. After breakfast tour this lovely mountainside town. Afternoon stops in Queretero and San Juan del Rio on the way to Mexico City.

DEPARTURE transfer or continue touring.
