Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Launceston 69km. Absorb the beauty of this proud city and it’s surrounds, by cycling along streets lined with heritage buildings, then stretching your legs in the open fields to include hedge lined narrow sealed lanes, a visit to Evandale, home of the Penny Farthing Championships, a boutique winery, quaint bakery amid the old world charm of historic Launceston and surrounds.

Day 2: Launceston to Scottsdale 71km. Skirting the Tamar River, we branch off and up to Lilydale, a timber town nestled amongst the tall timbers near Hollybank Forest. Magnificent gardens and waterfalls are ideal stops, interrupting the constant roll of hill and dale, before the lovely town of Scottsdale surrounded by eucalypti forests.

Day 3: Scottsdale to St. Helen's 98km. Another hilly day passing through thick Mountain Ash forests and lush green pasture. Tasmania is noted for its beauty and this is it. Branxholm and Derby are classics, before the Weldborough Pub and Pass tucked away in the hills, then it's all downhill to Georges Bay.

Day 4: St. Helen's to Bicheno 80km. This popular game fishing seaside resort is the start of coastal cycling, with an optional climb to St Marys famous pie shop, before descending down the Elephant Pass, and soaking up the sun along the boulder strewn beach of Maclean Bay. Explore Governors Island Marine Reserve, Whalers Lookout or the Blowhole.

Day 5: Bicheno to Swansea 50km. Bicheno, where people and penguins live in harmony is a beautiful overnight stay, cycling is the best way to appreciate the countryside, as you roll across farmland to Swansea overlooking Great Oyster Bay. Spoil yourself at the vineyards and strawberry farms or a walk to Waterloo Point to see the Shearwater birds coming back to nest.

Day 6: Rest Day. Rest day, if you wish, or join us for a short ride by bike or bus to Freycinet National Park where you can walk amongst giant red granite boulders on your way to Wine Glass Bay, the white sandy beach surrounded by rocks clothed in bright orange lichen. Coles Bay is the adventure base before a boat and bike or bus back to Swansea.

Day 7: Swansea to Richmond 116km. Today is big cycling day as you clock up the k’s along the coast, crossing convict made Spiky Bridge, passing through Triabunna, Orford and Runnymede. The food we share is local fare, with quaint attractions like Australia’s oldest bridge, Richmond Gaol, antique shops, tearooms and Coal River Valley wineries, you can’t go wrong.

Day 8: Richmond to Port Arthur then complimentary Catamaran to Hobart 89km. Heading down to the Peninsula, you will pass through Sorell, a classy little harbour, then cycle through farmland to the Tasman Monument, Tessellated Pavement, Tasman Blowhole, Tasman Arch and Devils Kitchen are a must see, before touring Port Arthur Penal Settlement, departure point of our riveting 60km catamaran ride through Storm Bay to Hobart. Congratulations, what a ride, what a rider!

Day 9: (optional extra accommodation) Hobart - Rest Day for the cyclists doing the Tassie Country ride. Forget the rest, go for a ride to the top of Mt Wellington and back.
