Day 1: After provisioning the boat and safety briefing we sail from Manoel Island Marina Malta and head towards Marzamemi in Sicily which is about 47 nm to the NNE of Malta. If the wind is calm we can start up the engine and would take us 7hrs of motoring to arrive at the beautiful port of Marzamemi. Time to swim before berthing. Berthing fees are approx €60-€80/night depending on the season. In the evening we can visit the multitude of restaurants that litter the main streets in Marzamemi and having a coffee after a good meal at the local piazza is a must with a visit at the local drinking hole. Day 2: After having good breakfast with fruit, muesli and other cereals fresh brewed coffee and teas we head towards Syracuse stopping for a swim at Fonta Bianca nature reserve to swim and sunbath the parts that stood in the dark for such a long time. Sun protection is a must. Syracuse is our next port and the marina there is approx €90/night. When you go to Rome you visit the Pope. When you go to Syracuse you visit the restaurant that feed you the best fish and seafood. Day 3: Visit the Market in the morning where the vendors still shriek to sell their products. The products at the market are what the earth can produce fresh oregano cheese fish and meet as well. Sail from Syracuse south towards Pozallo stopping for a swim at Capo Passero where you can see the old tuna sheds. Sail to Pozallo and spend the night at the marina. Pozallo pizza is the best and a must when you are there. Day 4: Depart from Pozallo and sail towards Malta to either bath in the south side of the island of Malta. For those who have a flight booked that evening will be transported to the airport and for those who are spending an extra day the fishing port of Marsaxlokk is the place to spend the night on anchor. Day 5: The fishing village of Marsaxlokk is the place where we would have spent the night and a sail around the island of Filfla is a must seeing the west cliff side of Malta which leaves an impression on your memory.
