Tour Itinerary:
Day 1, Thursday, September 24, 2009: USA - Munich.
Departure on a regular scheduled flight from the U.S. to Munich.
Day 2, Friday, September 25, 2009: Munich.
Arrive in Munich, and transfer to the centrally located hotel. After check-in, you will have time to relax and recuperate from your transatlantic flight. This afternoon, enjoy a guided city tour of Munich focusing on its rich heritage as the city of beer with a visit to the Paulaner Brewery. Towards the end of this tour, sample the beer and enjoy a snack. Tonight, explore the city of Munich on your own. You may choose to have dinner in one of the many traditional restaurants in downtown Munich, such as the Hofbraeuhaus or the Ratskeller.
Day 3, Saturday, September 26, 2009: Munich, Oktoberfest.
After breakfast meet with the local guide for a sightseeing tour of Munich, the capital of Bavaria. During this tour you will also visit Nymphenburg Castle. Afterward, we have a transfer to the “Theresienwiese”, the grounds where the famous Oktoberfest is held. Enjoy a traditional meal with two tankards of beer in one of the beer tents. Tonight is at your leisure.
Day 4, Sunday, September 27, 2009: Salzburg.
This morning depart for your excursion to discover Salzburg, the city of music. Travel through the southern part of Bavaria, past Lake Chiemsee to Salzburg, Mozart’s birthplace. Upon your arrival, our local representative will take you for a guided tour of the city, known as the Rome of the North, with its many palaces and squares. After your tour, you will have some free time to shop and explore this beautiful city on your own. Dinner will be served in a typical restaurant in downtown Salzburg before you return to Munich.
Day 5, Monday, September 28, 2009: Munich, Oktoberfest.
After a leisurely breakfast, you will have some free time to explore Munich on your own. Today, additional arrangements have been made for you to celebrate in another tent at the Oktoberfest.
Day 6, Tuesday, September 29, 2009: Munich - USA.
Transfer to the airport for your flight back to the USA.
