Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: March 21st, Friday. Arrival in L'Aquila and transfer to B&B or agroturismo. First walk (easy). In a few km we'll visit medieval castles and monasteries and the church of Santa Maria ad Cryptas, where we can find the frescoes that maybe inspired Dante for his Divine Comedy, as the legend said. (Ocre Circuit)
7:00 pm - transfer to L'Aquila city center to participate to the celebrations of the Holy Friday: a typical south-Italy religious parade, with its chorus and carols along the way. Dinner together and after dinner in the lively center of L'Aquila.
Day 2: March, 22nd Saturday. In the morning, horse riding. An excursion with a personal traveler suitable also for unskilled riders; otherwise if there is enough snow, it's possible to rent ski and get to Campo Imperatore.
Lunch on the mountains with roasted meat (if you're vegetarian you can take some vegetables with you!). Return during the afternoon. Evening touring around the nearest boroughs and dinner together.
Day 3: March 23rd, Sunday. We will spend the morning to visit one of the enchanting mountain village of Abruzzo, now known all over the world, Santo Stefano di Sessanio, where, if you want, you could take part to the Easter function. Lunch on own.
In the afternoon another route on foot to discover castles and fortresses, an extraordinary trip to go back in time: with an easy walking or, if you would be tired, with our bus, we'll go in the abandoned village of Calascio, with its fortress that is one of the most astonishing monuments of Abruzzo defensive architecture. Dinner and after dinner together.
Day 4: March, 24th Monday. Transfer to L'Aquila. Visit of the town to discover its architectural beauties. Lunch together and greetings. Then everyone will have the time to take the bus connecting L'Aquila to Rome Airport.
