Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in Hanoi - Transfer to hotel.

Afternoon sightseeing tour to include: Hoan Kiem Lake,Temple of Literature (Van Mieu Temple), One Pillar Pagoda (Chua Mot Cot), Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum. In the evening enjoy a traditional waterpuppet show.

Day 2: Hanoi - Sa Pa - Overnight train/superior berths

Morning visit the Museum of Ethnology. Also visit the Old Quarters. Evening: transfer to the train station for a deluxe overnight train to Lao Cai for our excursion to Sa Pa;

Day 3-4: Sa Pa

Sa Pa is a hill station built in 1922 which lies in a beautiful valley with majestic Fansipan Mountain overlooking the valley. Sa Pa has both Hmong and Dzao people, the largest and most colorful ethnic groups in the region. We will visit sites and explore the villages (Cat Cat, etc.) of various hill tribe minorities.

Day 5: Hanoi

Return to Hanoi by car, visiting villages enroute.

Day 6: Hoi An

Fly from Hanoi to Danang, then drive to Hoi An, past the Marble Mountains and some small villages.

Day 7: Hoi An

Half Day Morning Sightseeing/Afternoon Independent. Known as Faifo to early western traders, Hoi An was one of Southeast Asia's major international ports during the 17th-19th centuries.

Day 8: Hoi An

Excursion to My Son, one of the most stunning sights in the Hoi An area, and Vietnam's most important Cham site.

Day 9: Hue

Drive from Hoi An to Hue, sightseeing in the old Imperial City, visiting the Dong Ba Market. We journey north along Highway 1 past Danang, Lang Co and the Hai Van Pass.

Day 10: Hue

We visit Tien Mu Pagoda and the tomb of Emperor Minh Mang by boat.

Day 11: Saigon

Fly from Hue to Saigon. Sightseeing in Saigon and Cholon (Chinatown). Saigon is the largest Vietnamese city, and one will see the hustle and bustle of Vietnamese life everywhere. Yet within this teeming metropolis are 300 years of timeless traditions and the beauty of an ancient culture.

Day 12: Can Tho

Mekong Delta: Drive from Saigon to Can Tho. We journey southwest to the Mekong Delta past My Tho and across the river by ferry from Vinh Long to Can Tho.

Fri Day 13: Can Tho

Morning: a four hour boat ride on the Mekong Delta to experience the Phong Dien Floating Market. This market is very large and authentic; not one that most tourists visit. Enjoy a relaxed afternoon exploring this unspoiled Mekong Delta village.

Day 14: Saigon

Journey first across the Hau Giang River by ferry between Can Tho and Vinh Long; then drive to Saigon.

Day 15: Transfer to airport
