Day 1 - Rome
Arrive Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci Airport and transfer independently by easy airport train or taxi to our lovely hotel near the tain station. Then, later - at 1:30 pm, we'll meet our specialized local guide and board a private minibus to the start of our walking tour. We’ll see (among others) the Arch of Constantine, the Colosseum (entrance incl.), the Roman Forum, the Campidoglio with its architecture & piazza by Michelangelo, the monument (biggest in Rome) to king Vittorio Emanuele II, Piazza Venezia (from where Mussolini's delivered some of his most notorious speeches), Emperor Trajan's Column and much more. With our "whispersystem" (earphones for all) used throughout the tour, everyone will be able to understand clearly all the wonderful information delivered by the guide. A welcome-to-Rome dinner is included tonight, with local specialties. Includes: (D)
Day 2 - Rome
This morning, again accompanied by our knowledgeable local guide, we’ll take a private bus to the Vatican Museums (entr. incl.) for an extensive visit which includes Raphael’s rooms, Michelangelo’s frescoes in the Sistine Chapel & much more. We will travel down the spectacular Amalfi Coast to the old maritime town of Amalfi with its ancient Norman cathedral and steep terraces. Later, check-in at our wonderful 4-star hotel by the water, just outside Amalfi. Dinner with specialties of the Amalfi Coast and fresh fish of the Tyrrenian Sea. Includes: (B) (D)
Day 4 - Amalfi
Today is a free day. Our motorcoach will take everyone to nearby Amalfi from where some of you may decide to take a boat to the Isle of Capri. Others may prefer to go to charming Positano with our own bus. Some others may prefer to enjoy the beach and the sea right there in Amalfi. Our motorcoach will pick up in Positano at 3:00 pm and then in Amalfi at 5:30 pm. The tour director will give detailed directions to all and will also offer another option for the afternoon: a great hike in the nearby “Valley of the Mills”, a wonderful idyllic experience.
