This 5 day tour combines some fantastic driver’s roads starting with the road through the Cotswolds, then into Wales and the Black Mountains. From here follow small lanes and single track roads over Welsh Hills, through tiny valleys and finally to the west coast of Wales. North Wales has spectacular scenery and great roads, the route includes fishing villages, mountain railways and the mountains of Snowdonia. The return drive from Wales will take you close to the small country town of Great Malvern where your Morgan was made, and back into England and through the Vale of Evesham. Complete the tour with a drive along the Thames Valley into London.
Your Itinerary
Day 1: 12.30 pm: after a full briefing on how to get the most out of your car, take the road west out of London through Henley on Thames. Follow the signs to Oxford and then on through Burford with its many antique shops. Then on again to Northleach and through the small country lanes around Chedworth to end the day in Cheltenham. Overnight and dinner at The Queens Hotel. (D).
Day 2: Breakfast at the hotel and then follow the road towards Wales. The road will take you past the small town of Ross on Wye and the market town of Hereford. Follow the country roads to Hay on Wye on the Welsh Border and then into The Black Mountains and the town of Brecon. In the afternoon take the road to Beulah using the single track road to Tregaron. Continue onto the Welsh coast and Aberystwyth and finally into Machynlleth. Overnight and dinner at Penmaenuchaf Hall Hotel, Dolgellau. (B/D).
Day 3: Breakfast at the hotel and take the coast road through Aberdyfi and on towards Dolgellau. Take the road to Llanbedr with its massive caves, and then on again to the 13c Harlech Castle overlooking the sea. Follow the road past the Italiante style village of Portmeirion and the Welsh Highlands Railway. In the afternoon continue across Snowdonia National Park to Bala, then past Bala Lake to Mallwyd and the single track road back to your hotel. Overnight and dinner at Penmaenuchaf Hall Hotel. (B/D).
Day 4: Breakfast at your hotel and follow the road to the market town of Newtown and then follow the signs to Welshpool. From here the road takes you back into England, passing the Long Mynd Hills and Ludlow with its 16c architecture and Leominster. In the afternoon our route takes you close to New Malvern the country town where you Morgan was made, then follow the road through the Vale of Evesham and follow the road through Bishops Cleave and your hotel. Overnight and dinner at The Queens Hotel. (B/D).
Day 5: Breakfast at the hotel and then follow the road to Cirencester which has been a market town since Roman times. Then follow the route map which will take you to Lechlade, Faringdon and on through the Vale of the White Horse to Wantage and Reading. Then back into central London to arrive at around 12.30 pm.
