Eastern part of Mongolia is famous for its incredibly beautiful nature, relatively less travelled mountains and historic sites connected with Genghis Khaan and his great battles. Eastern Mongolia and the end of Khentii Mountains are wonderful place for trekking. You will love trekking under the blue skies and admire the nature here! This 8 full day trekking trip also features great trekking, relaxing and visits to ancient rock inscriptions, mineral springs, stone monuments and 13th century city ruins!
The horse-riding trip starts from Gun-Galuut Nature Reserve. Gun-Galuut Nature Reserve is one of Mongolia's most wonderful and most beautiful piece of lands. There's plenty to see including endangered animal -Wild Mountain Sheep, as well as some species of endangered bird life like White Napped Crane, White Crane, Whooper swan etc.
The health resort of Avarga Toson is on the shores of Avarga Toson Lake, and it was set up as a holiday resort and spa for Mongolin families. The resort offers hot-water baths. The 2 beautiful, small lakes behind the resort are said to contain curative properties.
Khodoo Aral is the place where the big monument of Chinggis Khaan was erected in 1990, to commemorate the 750th anniversary of the writing of "The Secret History of the Mongols". The Secret History of the Mongols which is the first and biggest historical book written on Chinggis Khaan and his warriors' life and wars was believed to be completed here. The symbols on the side of the statue are the brands used by about 300 different clans in the area for marking their livestock.
Your Itinerary
Day 1:
Arrival in Ulaanbaatar. Visit Gandan monastery, the museum of National History and the museum of Natural History. Drive to Gun-Galuut Nature Reserve, transfer to Steppe Nomads tourist camp.

Day 2:
Full day hiking in the nature reserve. Hike to Mt. Baits to view Argali wild sheep and other wild animals. Enjoy the fresh air and nature beauty. Walk to lakes Ayaga and Ikh-Gun to view the world famous White crane, Whooper swan, Swan goose and many other rare bird species.

Day 3-6:
Trekking to Khodoo Aral - a picturesque historic site via Bayan Ulaan mountains. Enjoy the nature beauty and wilderness. Camping in tents for the first 3 nights and in a ger camp on the 4th night.

Trekking from Khodoo Aral to Avraga Toson Mineral Springs, Toono Mountain and Aurag city ruins from the 13th century. Camping in tents.

Day 13:
Pack the truck and drive to Steppe Nomads tourist camp. Hot shower, cold beer and special dinner for the greatest trekkers.

Day 14:
Drive back to Ulaanbaatar, transfer to hotel, Visit Bogd Khaan's Palace Museum (the last king of Mongolia), Buddha International Park and see a traditional folklore concert. Shopping.

Transfer to the airport after breakfast.
