The roads and passes are carefully chosen to bring visitors to the most interesting and picturesque places, to spots where wild deer can be seen. The route follows the Katun River through the rich south Siberian taiga, comes to high alpine-looking mountains, crosses a remarkable bare steppe and ends at Teletsky Lake. We stop for excursions to see natural, cultural and historical phenomena, an aurochs reserve, caves of prehistoric man, far-away native villages. Numerous waterfalls, white rapids in deep canyons, glaciers and snowy peaks can be seen from a raft, jeep, motor boat, or from a path.
Tour Itinerary:
Day 1: Flight to Barnaul. Bus transfer to the Laguna tourist base on the Shore of Teletsky Lake. Included: (B)
Day 2: Cross the lake to its southernmost tip, Kyrsai bay, in a motor boat. Camp. Included: (B), (L), (D)
Day 3: Drive 60km in a 4WD vehicle along the Chulyshman valley, visiting different places of interest. Camp. Included: (B), (L), (D)
Day 4: Day outing through the wild Chulcha gorge to Chulcha waterfall 160m high. Return to camp. Included: (B), (L), (D)
Day 5: Drive in a 4WD vehicle along the Ulagansky and Chuysky trakts (roads) to the tourist base Majoi. Visiting on the way ancient burial mounds. Camp. Included: (B), (L), (D)
Day 6: Drive along the Chuysky Trakt. Horse and camel riding. Kazakh folk songs. Night in yurts (nomad’s tents). Included: (B), (L), (D)
Day 7: Drive to the Aktru valley. Outing to the Maly Aktru glacier. Camp. Included: (B), (L), (D)
Day 8: Drive along the very scenic part of the Chuysky Trakt. Visit to ancient graffiti. Camp in the Uch-Enmek National park. Included: (B), (L), (D)
Day 9: Visiting the ancient places of interest. Drive to the Areda tourist base. Accommodation in double rooms with private facilities. Included: (B)
Day 10: A day of rafting down the Katun River. Included: (B), (L), (D)
Day 11: Bus transfer to Barnaul and flight to Moscow. Included: (B)
