A long trek well spaced with rest days, so not really strenuous. Connects the Kronotsky Nature Reserve to Avachinsky area, going through one of the most scenic part of the peninsula: the Nalychevo National Park. Three easy volcanoes are climbed, many hot springs visited, some nights spent in bases, but mostly it is camping.

Tour Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival in PPK in the morning. Accommodation at Gelios Base in Paratunka hotel (B&B; DBL; a cafe with quite a limited choice of dishes, yet with a great boon – a hot volcanic water pool, very welcome after climbs and treks). Includes: (B)
Day 2: Helicopter flight (2,5hr) to a camp site on a meadow not far from the Geiser Valley. Pitching tents. Walk (2.5hr) on a path through bushes down to the Valley, extremely rich in various manifestations of the intimate life of earth’s bowels, the most spectacular being the big geyser called “Velikan” (“giant”). The place is well organized, you move there on railed wooden walks. Return to camp. Includes: (B)
Day 3: Reserve day in case of non-flying weather on Day 2. Includes: (B), (L), (D)
Day 4: Walk to camp site “Shumnaya River”. Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D)
Day 5: Walk to Uzon Caldera, a huge circular terrain with less spectacular but still numerous volcanic signs. Walking around. Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D)
Day 6: Walk over mixed terrain to Burlyatshi Cordon. Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D)
Day 7: Walk to Semyachinsky liman. Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D).
Day 8: Walk to under Semyachik Volcano Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D)
Day 9: Ascent of the volcano (1560m), probably the only one with a bright blue lake made of a high concentration acid in its crater. Because of that, standing on the rim, you should avoid the leeward side. Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D)
Day 10: Walk to under Karymsky volcano. Namp. Includes: (B), (L), (D)
Day 11: Ascent of the regular cone of Karymsky (1530m), one of the world most active volcanoes. 7-8hr. Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D)
Day 12: Walk to Zhupanova River. Camp. Includes: (B), (L), (D)
Day 13: Walk to Kedrovaya Base. Base. Includes: (B), (L), (D)
