Tour Highlights: 8 days tour from Grassland to Karakorum - was the ancient capital in the time of the Mongol empire during the 13-14th centuries until Kublai Khan moved it to Beijing. Visitors, such as Marco Polo, described its ornate building, including a 2500 sq. meters Palace of Worldly Peace. 400 meter long with 108 Stupas still surrounds Erdene Zuu Monastery which was built in 1586. Enjoy the "Chinggis" Tourist Ger Camp, has a great location in the beautiful natural valley of streams, and pine trees. We will visit Manzshir Khiid monastery, the wild horses in Hustai Nuruu National Park, Hogno Khan Temple, Erdene zuu monastery in Karakorum and the sand dunes of Bayangobi desert. Your Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival in Ulaanbaatar (UB) via Seoul, South Korea from U.S.A or from your country destination. On arrival, you are welcomed by our representative and are transferred to your hotel in the heart of the city! Today is spent on a guided city tour of Ulaanbataar, highlights include Sukhbataar Main Square, the "Chinggis" Khaan's New monument, the National History Museum where you will see artifacts from Mongolia from the Stone Age to the present, and displays of the development of Mongolian arts and culture. Evening Tumen Enkh National Performers (concert which includes the Tsam dance, traditional Mongolian singers, dancers, Tuvan throat singing and contortionists. Have welcome dinner at local restaurant. Overnight at 4 stars "Chinggis" Khan Hotel. Included: (D)

Day 2: After breakfast in the hotel, visit the Gandan Lamasery, the largest Monastery in Mongolia (80 foot tall statue of Buddha, practicing Tibetan Buddhist Lamas). Some shopping at the State Department Store. Lunch in local restaurant "El Latino". Depart overland drive to "Terelj" National Park (70kms). Visits the Tortoise rock and hiking to the small and beatiful Buddhist monastery on the top of the mountain. This is a picturesque place of high cliffs eroded in granites of Mesozoic age. After, drive overland to the "Sacred Tuul River Nomad's Valley"(50kms). Enjoy this amazing scenery of wide-open steppe with rolling hills in the background and river, we recommend you take a walk around the Tuul River or into the foothills to witness this amazing landscapes and wild life. In route, we will stop, to visit the Higgest New Statue of "Chinggis" Khan, (it is very close to our "Chinggis" Tourist Base Camp, 4kms). Arrive. Welcome dinner with traditional mongolian meal (khorkhog), which is mutton cooked with hot rock and with vegetables, water, potatoes, and onion. Overnight at the comfortable "Chinggis" Tourist Base Camp. This Tourist Camp offers electricity, hot water, showers, western style toilets and restaurant in extremely beautiful natural locations. Day 3: Full day of Horseback riding tour or hiking along the Tuul river, so it's easy to meet with locals and see their daily lives, interact with them, take water adventures, go trekking or swimming in the Tuul river. Overnight at the comfortable "Chinggis" Tourist Base Camp (with hot water, showers, western style toilets and restaurant). Included: (B), (L), (D).

Day 4: This morning, we will drive through the grassland toward to visit "Manzshir" monastery, built in 1733, in Bodg Khan Strictly Protected Area. Manzshir Khiid overlooks a beautiful valley of streams, and pine, birch, cedar trees, dotted with granite boulders. Excursion to visit the "Manzshir" monastery, hiking and trekking. Picnic lunch is provided. After, drive to Hustain Nuruu National Park to observe the Wild horses or Takhi horses, recently re-introduced back into Mongolia. The Przewalski horse (Equus przewalskii Poliakov) or Takhi as the Mongolians name them are rather small, sturdy animals with a short, strong neck. The earliest written reports of Przewalski horses or Takhi date from the ninth century and in 1226, a herd of Przewalski horses is said to have caused "Genghis" Khan to fall of his horse. The Hustain Nuruu Reserve (Hustai is Mongolian for birch and nuruu means mountains) measures about 57,000 hectares, or including the buffer zone 120.000 ha., and is located on about 120 km west from the capital Ulaanbaatar. Visit the park museum to learn about the history of the last pure wild horses in the world and the history of the area. Overnight in Hustain Nuruu National Park in traditional ger dwellings at the Tourist camp. Included: (B), (L), (D).

Day 5: After breakfast, drive your journey south to Karakhorum, Genghis Khan's 13th century capital and heart of the mighty Mongolian Empire. It was the capital of the Mongol Empire until Kublai Khan moved it to Beijing. Visitors, such as Marco Polo, described its ornate building, including a 2500 sq. meters Palace of Worldly Peace. After the collapse of the Mongol Empire it was abandoned and vandalized by Manchurian invading hordes. Most of the remains were used to rebuild the first Buddhist Monastery in Mongolia-Erdene Zuu, built in 1586. 400 meter long with 108 Stupas still surrounds Erdene Zuu Monastery which was built in 1586. It was restored in 1760. In 1792 the Monastery still had 62 temples and 10,000 lamas. But in 1930 it became a victim of the Stalin's purges. All but three of the Temples were destroyed and most of the monks were either killed or sent to Siberia. Today the restoration of the Monastery is the government's top priority. Erdene Zuu retains much of its ancient glory and is well worth visiting. Arrive and transfer to the tourist base ger camp. Free time for photo opportunities, and to experience the nomadic lifestyle. Dinner and overnight in tourist base camp. Included: (B), (L), (D).

Day 6: In the morning, visits "Erdene Zuu" monastery and the Tortoise rock. The monastery grounds and several chapels depict excellent examples of Buddhist iconography dating from the sixteenth century. In the afternoon, we drive to Bayangobi desert. Visit the site of the singing sand. Here is where the impassable Gobi begins. Free time for photo opportunities, an optional camel-riding or horse riding session. Overnight in traditional ger dwellings at the Tourist camp. Included: (B), (L), (D).

Day 7: This morning, return drive to Ulaanbaatar. Transfer to the hotel. Free time. In the afternoon, city tour of Ulaanbataar, highlights include the Museum of Natural Historic, where you will see two complete dinosaur skeletons, which were found in the Gobi - the giant flesh-eating Tarbosaurus, 15m tall and four to five tons in weight, and the little duck-billed plant-eating Saurolophus, and displays of Mongolia's geography, flora and fauna, "Bogd Khan" Winter Palace, the war memorial "Zaisan" Hill. Some shopping. Overnight at "Chinggis Khan" Hotel 4*. Included: (B), (L).

Day 8: Departure from Ulaan Baatar to U.S.A. or to your country destination (or Post tour to Khovsgol Lake National Park or to Gobi desert, according to separate program). Included: (B).

When Is The Best Time To Go? : Mongolia is vast! Generally, it is recommended to pay your visit from May to September when the grass is green. Please note when you choose your clothes: April to May, or on September: warm days and cool nights around (6-10°C). / June, July to August: is summertime, days around (15°C-30°C), and nights around (10 /20 ° C).
