Passu is famous for its Yaks, cattle, sheep and goats. The village owns the large grazing area like Batura valley, yunz valley and abdegar. Among the villager and the foreigners Batura valley is well known for its summer herds and the best touristy spots.
The Panoramic views of the Batura ranges with its ice flow and the Tibetan style of shepherds, huts attract hundreds of tourist every year. The local people engaged with the tourism industry have introduced the "Yak Safari" in the valley and now every year hundreds of tourist rash up to there to experience the unique traveling adventure. During the Safari you can observe the life of the mountain area community and can experience organic foods especially made from milk and the herbs shepherds used as vegetable.
Itinerary:
Day 1: Arrive at Islamabad airport and transfer to the hotel.
Day 2: Drive to Islamabad / Chilas (approx. 11 hrs drive). Overnight Chilas.
Day 3: Drive Chilas / Passu (approx. 8-9 hrs drive) en rout stop over at Rakaposhi view point for lunch.
Day 4: This day you can explore the Passu Village and its surrounding areas like Passu Lake, Suspension Bridge, and etc. Overnight Passu.
Day 5: This is the day we will start the unique adventure of Yak Safari towards Batura Valley. On the way you will corss the Batura glacier. It takes 8-9 hurs to reach Yashperth. Yashparth is the first summer pasture of Passu village in Batura valley. Overnight camping at Yashperth.
Day 6: Proceed to Kuckhill, on the way you can view the majestic Batura Ranges on your opposite side. Overnight camping at kuckhill.
Day 7: You will get very close to the Batura first ice flow. Following the trail along the glacier you can see the dramatic formation of glacier and its circumferences. Guchesm is the last summer pasture. The stream and wild flowers are abundant there. Overnight camping.
Day 8: Retrace you footsteps down valley to Yashperth. Overnight camping.
Day 9: Follow the trail to Passu via cross the while glacier and use the alternate path of Kirgaswushk. Overnight at Passu.
Day 10: Drive to Gilgit en route visit Karimabad Bazaar and Baltit For. Overnight Gilgit.
Day 11: Drive to Besham via stop at Shatial Rock Carving, which is dated back of 1st centurey to 8th century B.C. Overnight Besham.
Day 12: Drive to Islamabad en route visit Taxila Museum. And then transfer to the air port for flight.
